With all due respect you guys are talking about Dr. Chen as is you knew who he is or what his real intentions with this thread are. Chances are he could be our resident alien.

Thank you for your understanding and appreciation of my Analysis.
Upon careful consideration, I have decided to make the following improvement on the Analysis. I will post an update of an executed trade within a short period of execution but still write the Analysis on a daily basis at the end of the day. (I did not do so initially because even doing so does not PROVE the trade in the absence of an audited account report. If I start to see a request for such an audited report, I will revert to the current practice of including the executed trade in the daily Analysis at the end of day.)
I could omit the line under "Strategy" altogether in my Analysis. But since I include the line under "Strategy," and posting an update of an executed trade takes only a minimum effort, I may well lend some credibility â not proof -- to the "Strategy." Thanks.

Yes...I'm sure to you it would be nice if he posted soon after the fact but it's obvious that's not his objective for this thread...
Similar to another thread I pointed out by Lescor that post only a week ending summary of his trading results. Yet, that's ok because the objective of his trades has nothing to do with calling trades soon, advance or whatever.
My point is this...we as viewers need to understand the objective of a thread instead of "projecting" our own personal objectives or trying to change the thread starter's objective.
Thus, if I want to read real-time trades or soon after the fact trades...
I wouldn't be reading this thread, I wouldn't be reading Lescor thread or any other thread that's not about real-time trades. Further, I'm sure not going to complain about such in the thread when I can't get my way (change his mind).
P.S. To DrChen - Can you post Hooter girl pics to make this thread more entertaining similar to "RCG Girls Pictorium" thread here at ET even though that's not your objective. I just would be nice (sarcasm).

Yeah...I like this thread via the economic point of view that has an impact on your trade decisions regardless if the trades are winners or losers.
Yet, if I was interested in real-time trades...I wouldn't be here at ET for such. I can get the latter at any free real-time chat room on Othernet/Financial chat or twitter (stocktwits)...much better environment in my opinion.

Why not? There are quite a few good ones in the ES Journal.
Now here is my general problem with his trades:
If his trades are based on his analysis (a logical assumption) and the trades suck so far, then the analysis must suck too. Or the market is doing something what an analyst can't see, again, no reason to base trades on logic in this enviroment.
Actually, the only analysis one needed in the last 7 weeks: weak dollar thus higher market thus get long....
As you noticed, once he got long, he got his first winner (so far)
Like I mention before without going into details...signal calling threads rarely are good if there's only one person doing it. In comparison, signal calling threads that involves multiple traders usually have more substance to those threads with one trader only.
However, I try hard not to compare a signal calling thread with multiple traders posting trades with different trading styles to a thread that's not based upon signal calling.
By the way, I don't like the ES Journal thread but that's just me.
Also, not exactly sure why DrChen trades bothers you or what impact they have on you. If you don't like his economic analysis or his trades...why participate in his thread or read his daily commentaries. For example, I don't like the ES Journal thread and because of such I don't participate in the thread...makes sense to me.

I am also not sure why my trying to make sense of this journal bothers you, but that is probably also one of the mysteries of life. But maybe you can answer my question already posted above:
If his analyses is as good as his trades, well, then he is no good at all. And for the last time, the market has been a dollar play for the last 2 months, no further analysis needed. If an analyst can not see that, well.....
P.S.: The trick with the ES Journal is to put half of the posters on Ignore.
I'm a strong believer that successful trading has many variables and that trade signals is just one of those variables. Further, I don't believe in trading without understanding the price action via putting the market into context.
I think DrChen is trying to put the price action into context to help him make informed trade decisions. Also, I believe he's still trying to piece together that road from context to trades and hasn't figure it out.
Thus, it seems to me he's still learning. Therefore, still developing his trade method. As for the U.S. dollar, I don't know how important that is in his analysis (context). However, I know several guys doing well in this market without the U.S. dollar as part of their market analysis (context).
Simply, you're obviously using trade results as a deciding factor of the merits of this thread. In contrast, I want to see (read) how he's trying to connect the dots from market context (analysis) to trades.
Regardless to his trade results or the elements in his market analysis...you'll continue having a problem with this thread because the thread starter's objective is in contrast to what you're looking for.
Here's my question to you...has the thread starter stated or implied his analysis was good.
Last of all, there's another thread where traders talk about the economy and discuss trades. Similar thread style but more participants in the thread called The Credit Crisis Financial Stocks Short Journal @ http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=134037
Thus, although they post trades...they do a better job in showing that the objective of the thread is not about trade posting. The objective of that thread is the context via whatever that may be to them prior to the appearance of any trades. Therefore, I obviously like a different type of journal in comparison to signal calling threads like the ES Journal.
