Russian collapse coming?

The main problem with Hawaiian sovereignty is that they make up at most 10% of the population. What are you going to do, kick out the other 90% who do not support this? My family has been there since 1837, but we have no Hawaiian blood. It is our home, we have no other, but we are also 100% Yank as are most people there. The independence group is most definitely just a fringe population who happen to be quite vocal. I understand their frustration, but they are about 100 years too late with this issue. Hawaii is an American State period.

Quote from Gringinho:

Jayford,
I got interested in the Hawaiian history through my interest for MMA and through BJ Penn.
I think that the struggle he is fighting has some very positive effects on the Hawaiian people - like stronger self-esteem.
The knowledge of the history and "roots" are important for the integrity and strength of the community.
I do agree that a disconnect from the US would be very traumatic and damaging, therefore most people prefer conservation.

Hawaiians would not go under gaining their sovereignty - but just like Russia, Romania, Czechoslovakia, Jugoslavia etc - it would be a time of upheaval and internal turmoil to restructure and gain internal integrity and trust. Of course many are opposed to such a change. It wouldn't kill the nation of Hawaii - but it would be a difficult period.

However, in the previous discussion user "d08" claimed the "moral high ground" and I found it appropriate to put him back on the ground where he belongs in his antirussian attitudes.

I hope you see Chechnya with the same consistency in reasoning.
Other interesting implications are redemption measures for native populations and other "issues" back in time...
American native nations, Jewish property confiscations, nationalizations... damages due to history of systemic bias.

Things are not exactly simply clear-cut "black and white"...
:)
