Russian collapse coming?

Quote from GermanTrader:

Aw thermy, if you think I have any feelings at all about what happened to Germany, you'd do better in used kiddie porn than in the stock market, because your instincts are shit.
Are you a professional troll? Grow up already.

Quote from Gringinho:

Why doesn't the US let Hawaii have it's independence?
And why can't Alaska have their independence?

At least Hawaii was brutally robbed by corrupt privateers, and the native Hawaiians are being marginalized... They have frequent and sometimes violent protests against the US oppression, and Baby Jay Penn MMA wizard is one of their front figures...

I agree. But, what happened to Hawaii happened a long time ago (it's relevant). Chechnya was just happening few years ago and still the situation is bad - most media has been driven out and some reporters have been killed, ergo no unbiased information flow at all.
I suggest you look up pictures of Chechnya and compare that to Hawaii - who is worse off, really?

d08,

are riots in Hawaii happening "a long time ago"?
Was Chechnya just recently "acquired" by the Russians - or did that too "happen a long time ago"?

What is your definition and context for judging things relevant or not - on a timeframe of "long time ago"?

When did Chechnya become part of Russia?
When did Hawaii become part of the USA?

Can you really start claiming some difference like that?

Back on topic...

RTS, MICEX index etc. Any providers in Europe or the US?

Quote from d08:

Remember, nationalized Russian TV channels are not the only sources for information. Censorship is bad, mkay.

I do not believe Georgia was completely innocent in this (I do think they were the initiators but to what level?) but the Russians clearly knew what was happening and were prepared - why were thousands of tanks deployed near the Georgian border before the conflict began? If it was a conflict regarding S. Ossetia and Abkhazia why were they near Tbilisi?

BTW: Why hasn't Chechnya been allowed independence (whats left of it, after Russia organized genocide)? I'd really like this answered.
Because Russia has just as pathetic and horrific leadership as other western countries, Russia in NO WAY is some pure government with sound leadership.....they are all just pawns in a bigger game.

About 5% of Hawaii wants independence. They are just vocal about it. Most of them also want racial based citizenship. Its seriously fucked up. I am 6th generation kamaaina, so I know of which I speak.

I say give em Molokai.

Then you also know about the systemic bias that they are revolting over. It is NOT only about being native to Hawaii - although they do point to the history of Hawaii. That is essentially the same for any group seeking sovereignty, don't you think? And there are always those in favor, and those who think it's fine like it is. Some try to change things - others like to preserve things.

The vast majority of people who live in Hawaii (my native home) think this independence crap is utter nonsense. And yes, many of those who support it, want to include a racial clause that you have to have some Hawaiian blood to be a citizen. This is far more widespread than you would think. Hawaiians are VERY racist against haoles, but not against "locals" (anyone of color regardless of where they are from). Blacks do not fall into this category however. Its mainly Filipino, Samoan, etc.

This is my home, I know of what I speak. There are certainly issues of being raped by the US government, but 90% of the people living there are patriotic US citizens. There is no chance in hell that this will go anywhere because its nuts, and not supported by the majority. Hawaiians already have an island that only those of Hawaiian decent can visit (Niihau). Its privately owned.

Jayford,
I got interested in the Hawaiian history through my interest for MMA and through BJ Penn.
I think that the struggle he is fighting has some very positive effects on the Hawaiian people - like stronger self-esteem.
The knowledge of the history and "roots" are important for the integrity and strength of the community.
I do agree that a disconnect from the US would be very traumatic and damaging, therefore most people prefer conservation.

Hawaiians would not go under gaining their sovereignty - but just like Russia, Romania, Czechoslovakia, Jugoslavia etc - it would be a time of upheaval and internal turmoil to restructure and gain internal integrity and trust. Of course many are opposed to such a change. It wouldn't kill the nation of Hawaii - but it would be a difficult period.

However, in the previous discussion user "d08" claimed the "moral high ground" and I found it appropriate to put him back on the ground where he belongs in his antirussian attitudes.

Quote from Gringinho:

Actually, even Colin Powell yesterday said that it was Saakashvili. But as we know - through support and military advisors, you can get a lot done. Normally there are not the populations that declare war on each other - there are corporations and other interests who do the preliminaries... ALL history shows this.

I did a quite extensive geopolitical systems analysis with regards to the Georgia conflict when it was emerging, and I don't think any of what I said has been wrong as of yet. Even the later reactions by Russia and Europe. Why? Because it makes sense, that's why. That is called "systems intelligence".
