They immediately started negotiating and would withdraw within a week on acceptable terms

One, is that the Ukrainians are receiving or will be receiving armored troop carriers from the west. Those puppies move fast, and can place troops in strike positions fast. So they are starting to train troops to match the capabilities of the new equipment.

They will need a brilliant strategy or something approaching air superiority as the dry land entrance to Crimea is very narrow and it's swamp on the east. They will need to obliterate a lot of defences as that narrow bit of land is very defendable.

1. Cut off Russian overland supply routes to Crimea - doable.
2. Kill the Kerch bridge. Doable once they get closer to Crimea.

Once that is done, sit back and shell Crimea with its supplies cut off.
