Their troops are getting ready to make a little excursion into Ukraine upon Putin's insistence which will not lead to good health for the troops.
But it will incite the resistance against Lukashenko/Putin back home and, and to your point, be good in the long run.
Unfortunately, in the next several months there is a nasty period that will need to be crossed over. The Russian troops are just rag tag and the Belarus are are pitiful. They will need to watch their arse. The Ukrainians are pretty worn down but they are also highly experienced now, in addition to having started out motivated. They will not put up with those Belarus soldiers that have been scrounged up. Also a lot of the Belarus are cooperating military are cooperating with Ukraine covertly already.
