Why should other nations respect a nation that built its economy at the expense of slavery and up to now has not bothered to officially apologise for it?

This is a Jewish answer, with a question.

I am not the one advocating respect for any country, let alone justifying an invasion for 'respect'.

Nobody likes what is happening. But taught by the lessons of ignorance that took place in the past, when diplomacy failed, another stage was initiated. You live in the West and don’t know much about life in other parts of the world, ffs Americans don’t even travel much outside the US, this breeds ignorance. I know of many English that don’t travel, they all think it’s shit outside the UK, they don’t respect anyone or anything that’s not English, they just tolerate as they have been trained to for decades. So you sit in your democratic land of the free and only know what your media tells you, therefore your perception of the world is completely diluted by the efforts of your free press. For example, why do you think that China is number one enemy of the US? People like you think it is because China is not democratic, etc, but it is not the reason. It is because China’s economic growth poses a great threat to the US empire. This is the only true reasons, but for people like you, this won’t be presented this way when the military conflict starts between the US and China, it will be something simple for you to digest and approve and be willing to be shipped to hell to fight for democracy, when you would be fighting for the empire’s economic prosperity and preservation of dominance on this planet.

Within the thread there is a question of why do this if consequences could have been foreseen by so many intelligent people. The answer as far as I’m concerned is simple. There was a need for this type of conflict because the US was on course for an economic self destruction. Inflation is in, consumer debt is double the average already and this can’t be sustained. It’s so easy to point a finger at someone like Russia and simply say well they started it, they are the aggressor, but it usually takes two to tango, and certainly this is the case here which is constantly being denied cause it’s so convenient, we didn’t provoke, we did NOTHING!

The answer is simple. First of all, internal politics are up to the people of Russia to sort out, they shouldn’t be influenced by the US like what happened in Ukraine. The US has friendly respectful relations with quite a few undemocratic countries and mainstream media doesn’t criticise, why is that? Double standards. So it is perfectly acceptable to respect one nation and disrespect another for exactly same actions and at times worse ones. And what about Israel? The US looooooovvvves Israel. When it suits. china is the country with the largest population but still wants more (taiwan, ...)
