Not really. He has the same constraints - if he attacks a NATO country, he knows the NATO doctrine is for a full response, so he won't, because of the same risk.
He is calculating that NATO won't directly involve itself in the Ukraine because of the same risk - and he is correct.
Poll: whose been worse in this whole Ukraine situation, the Germans with their business interests or the the French with Macron ceaselessly trying to broker a never going to happen cease fire with Russia?
And Trump was right. Once again. And again.Okay have at me. And the west- Biden included- enabled their dependency on German gas by approving the second pipleline and cheering the Germans on - especially Camp Biden- in regard to putting themselves and the west at risk by shifting over ot all that unreliable green shiite.
Macron because he is just trying to win an election by grandstanding and it is not working.
The germans are a confused pain in the arse and are a more than a little bit too tight with Putin- especially under Angela- until they couldn;t avoid distancing themselves. But - and here is where it get's dicey- I do acknowledge that the issue of imposing sanctions that may hurt their country more than it hurts Putin is a vaild one for discussion. I did not say that it does not need to still happen, only that it is an issue that requires serious consideration and advocacy on the part of a country's leader- versus Macron just posturing for an election.

No, you are not sure that nothing happens if you are wrong. Because Putin can continue to murder and invade and make a lot of victims. He can even invade Europe because he knows NATO is afraid for nuclear war and will not stop Putin. At this moment already a lot of people died. So saying that nothing happens is very sarcastic to me.
If I am wrong, it does not mean that the whole world will be destroyed. So your assumption that the whole world will be destroyed is purely hypothetical and unrealistic. Typical black/white logic.
Very pessimistic people told that Russia would invade Ukraine and reach Kiev in three days. That didn't happen. Russia could easily just bomb entire Ukraine, but they did not, despite the huge frustration and the faikure of the Russian army. So that shows that your assumption "everybody dies" is not realistic. Each war has different stages, never a nothing or all in.
I read that in case of a nuclear war it would be a local nuclear war, so not all Russian rockets falling on the US and Europe and all Western rockets falling on Russia. So the "everyone dies scenario" is not the first thing that will happen.
And Trump was right. Once again. And again.
It's amazing how this crude, narcissistic idiot who could not put two words together is proven right again and again while the refined, educated, very professional European politicians who opposed everything he said are shown to be completely wrong.Yep. Trump told them to their faces that they would be reliant on Russian energy, and they laughed at him. Who is laughing now?
