Russia & Ukraine

Since you're claiming that there are thousands upon thousands of dead Russians littering the countryside one or two pics/vid's of say a few hundred should not be hard to come by considering everyone and their fucking brother has a cell phone and there are scores of independent war correspondents covering the war.
The only mass casualty numbers which can be verified are of civilians being bombarded. I don't see why you need to engage in such body count propaganda. Reminds me of Vietnam. The Ukrainian people and their military are putting up a hell of a fight. They are holding their own much longer than anyone would have thought and aren't going down easy. They are brave and furious fighters, but the numbers you're talking about would be the result of MASSIVE battles going on daily, and I mean fucking massive.
Iwo Jima, 6,800 dead over a period of nearly one month. 2,188 dead on Tarawa over a 3 day battle. Approx. 20,000 dead Americans in the Battle of the Bulge. Khe Sanh, Marines recorded an actual body count of 1,602 NVA killed but estimated the total NVA dead at between 10,000 and 15,000. We took 220 killed at Khe Sanh and about 800 wounded. The enemy by estimated count suffered at least 15,000 dead in the area. This battle lasted 2 1/2 months of continuous fighting.
Are we see anything, anything even remotely similar to these battles? No, we are not. You have no idea of just how huge a fight has to be just to end up with a hundred dead, let alone thousands. So show me the vid/pic, just one will do.

WASHINGTON — In 36 days of fighting on Iwo Jima during World War II, nearly 7,000 Marines were killed. Now, 20 days after President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia invaded Ukraine, his military has already lost more soldiers, according to American intelligence estimates.

The conservative side of the estimate, at more than 7,000 Russian troop deaths, is greater than the number of American troops killed over 20 years in Iraq and Afghanistan combined.

I saw a vid of two Russian paratroopers dead a hundred yards apart due to failed chutes. That has to be pretty demoralising.
Russian soldiers don't a bullshit war.

Russian troops ‘shoot themselves in legs’ to avoid fighting in Ukraine
Some Russian soldiers have reportedly been resorting to desperate, violent measures to try and escape the Ukraine conflict.
Morale is so low among invading Russian forces that soldiers have reportedly been shooting themselves in the legs to avoid fighting – using Ukrainian ammunition to make it appear they were hit by the defenders.

Everyone knows you put your underpants on your head, pencils up your nose and only say "wibble".

I actually have great sympathy for those kids. Through I have a lot of military history in my family I chose to not sign up to a regular army myself. Just the wildlife ranger stuff and other bits. It's only a matter of time before you are ordered to do something wrong, as a well brought up person would see it, that you will regret for the rest if your life. This was on advice from a couple of family peers.

I've killed but except for one time when the round was flying and a guy jumped off a truck roof into it, I never did anything I didn't intend in the moment. That said, if I were Ukranian faced with Putin, I'd join. If I were Russian, I'd try and sabotage them I hope.

Oh and how many Russians do you think got alive out of this kind of stuff?

There is a twitter channel that keeps meticulous records of photographically confirmed Russian tanks and armored vehicles destroyed. I think they are up to 500+ hundred now. You think those vehicles were destroyed with no one inside?

I see plenty of Armour blown to pieces and two civilians, zero dead Russian soldiers. Show me the actual bodies that you claim are laying all over the countryside.

Our military and government "experts" are famous for exaggerating enemy body count. More propaganda from the West. We're giving Putin a run for his money when it comes to bullshit. Show me the bodies that people are claiming to be littering the countryside, thousands upon thousands of them left to rot, or so is the claim. Shouldn't be all that difficult for someone in the area to have grabbed a photo. I'll believe it when I see it and I haven't seen anything that would even remotely suggest the body counts being claimed. Let's just say that the Ukrainians are putting up a hell of a fight, much more than anyone expected, especially Putin. That in and of itself deserving of our respect. We don't need bullshit added on.

If Russia is firing from Russia then Ukraine should fire at Moscow

They should be doing it regardless of where Russia is firing from if they have that capability. Doubt they do however.

The west/nato others argue that the treaty says that the west is committed to defending Ukraine if someone else uses nukes against them but that they still were responsible for maintaining an adequate military for conventional warfare. They have some merit to their argument though.

So wait... does that mean if Putin has his boys pop a theater nuke inside Ukraine, the West is committed, like an attack on a NATO country?

US intelligence has been spot on with Russia/Ukraine AFAIK

Russians are sending down units from Moscow now.

Allegedly better trained/more experienced whatever that were heretofored protecting Moscow.

Plan seems to be now to continue using long range missiles from Russia to hit Ukraine while waiting for the moscow troops to arrive. and then somehow bringing in the artillery that is mired in the convoy and elsewhere to continue turning Ukraine into a moonscape.

Of course, that is just their plan, allegedly. The Ukranians are also bringing in new "resources." No reason why the general/s from the Moscow units should be denied an opportunity to give their life to the cause of "liberating" Ukraine too.

I see they bagged another colonel too. Not to take away from the Ukranians but American intelligence is clearly feeding them good info. There are a lot more cia and intelligence units on the ground than being acknowledged and I have no need to know.

Heres the thing with those long range missiles, how many do they have if they’re using their new hypersonic missiles?

Just saying, you don’t normally break out something like that unless 1. The isklander or however you spell it is ineffective or 2. You’re running low on effective long range missiles because the Russians theoretically would not like for the west to have info on the newer missiles. Or not, who knows…

They're comparing apples to orchards.
Iwo Jima is about 8 square miles in size and had 21K well fortified Japanese troops that had spent nearly a year preparing for the inevitable invasion. We also bombed the spit out of it (to little avail) before the amphibious assault.
But it makes for good print on the front page of the NYT's. :banghead:
