Russia & Ukraine

You object to posting a map of Russia's former territory over the centuries to provide context of what Putin's point about re-creating its "historical boundaries of centuries past" means. SAD.

I don't object to that at all. As I recall, the only thing I argued with you on was that you were using the map to indicate Moldova is about to be invaded. And then to justify this, you mentioned troops were stationed there - that had been there at least a decade before the crisis and had nothing to do with the current action.

And then you went silent, and then you got pissy.

Let me explain something to you about Moldova (having been there). NO one wants that country. Moldova would be lucky if someone took it over. Its poorer than poor.

Truthfully, my ability to analyze it gets fuzzy on a very basic level- ie. I cannot get a clear sense of how peppy that convoy is. Yeh, I get that it is long. But lots of them are out of gas and filled with conscripts who were working at Burger King a month ago and may not have had anything to eat or worth eating in the last week. I mean realistically it is to be feared bigly. Just that I don't underestimate their ability to fuck up in some critical area. The Ukranians are outnumbered majorly and in a dire position though.

As expressed above, I was not quick to conclude that because the convoy stalled out that they will not be deadly when once they get moving. So I gave them a few days.

Those days have passed. Not a good look to it. They got problems. They will compensate for it with more artillery being unloaded on the civilians but that convoy thing has officially entered clown show territory.

I am a little behind in my news on that so I will acknowledge any updates, if any.

Moldova is the second poorest country in Europe with the poorest country being Ukraine. According to your own logic if Russia wants Ukraine then poverty would not deter it from taking Moldova.

Um...Moldova's GDP is $11B and the Ukraine is like 150B. GDP per capita is also the second lowest in Europe, right behind Kosovo. Though Ukraine isn't much better.

So are you saying Moldova is next up for invasion? Do go on record here and share your wisdom. Because it would be nice to know in advance, as we've already established - you are always right.

They are stuck in the muck that all modern-day occupiers find themselves in. Best Putin can hope for is to negotiate the disputed territory of eastern Ukraine, and even that will prove to be a pyrrhic victory.
