Russia & Ukraine

Both Trump and Romney supported the Iraq war.Neither served.None if thier 8 or so kids served. Both Trump and Romney dodged the draft.
Trump never supported the Iraq war ---not sure about Romney. In either case, they were not draft dodgers.

The idea that people are intelligent and interested in the things that impact their lives blows your mind huh? Yeah, you probably spent a little too much time in Russia.

Tell me, do you think DeSantis is incapable of understanding more than one issue? What does that say about people in positions like governor, senator, or even president? Are they incapable of doing jobs that require informed judgements on an array issues ranging from healthcare to war?

The truth is that a lot of people are dumb and their judgments are faulty because they cannot process large amounts of information on one subject, let alone many subjects. And, yes, the Internet has given dumb people a megaphone. So in way your criticism is right, there are a lot of dumb people with a lot of dumb opinions. But intelligent people can certainly be nimble and have informed opinions on a great many topics easily.

But DeSantis!

I don't mind opinions and thoughts at all. I think intelligent discourse is very rewarding and even polar opposites can find something of value to learn from.

What is funny is how some of you are speaking from positions of certainty. Hell, GWB was telling us Alaska and the West Coast of the United States is under threat. Moldova is next because Russian troops are stationed there (despite him refusing to answer just how long those troops had been there - hint, way before the crisis).

Its the "expert" opinions that are funny.

But I agree with a lot of what you - specifically - write. Not all, mind you, but a good deal. its just a shame you have to lace everything with snark all the time when we speak. I mean, calling me a "Russian lover" and stuff like that simply because I try to speak intelligently (as you indicated you like) about a concept, but happen to not align fully with your "Kill Putin now!" comments.

I think all Tony is saying is that its easy to be sitting behind a keyboard calling for military force against a nation. But your talk is just cheap if your advocating for someone else to die when you are able to sign up.

The entire country was all for attacking Afghanistan after 9/11 so did the entire U.S. become chickenhawks since only like .01% served?

you just snarkily insulted all of us by claiming how we believe we are experts in foreign policy by expressing our opinions and you are doing the same....

Maybe lose the snark too... that is why I asked you if you also give your opinions on the situation then why are you calling out people from flipping to epidimiologists to foreign policy experts when you also wrote a lot abotu COVID and now Russia....

tell me that was not snarky

I didn't say anything about you! Where did I mention El Ocho?

And it was not snarky.

Putin should kill himself. Compare the strength of Russia 8 days ago to today and game out how Russia will get itself back to it’s former strength and the most efficient path is a dead Putin.

"... yet actively avoided or avoids ..."

The truth is that you are emotional that everyone doesn't agree that Putin will initiate global nuclear war; and are trying to make all sorts of arguments that don't fit, apply.

You're scared. I get that. It'll be OK.

You want to vilify anyone that disagrees with your unsupported narrative that Putin will, without a doubt, do what YOU say he will do.

In the US, you still get a say in what your country does, or doesn't do, whether you went to college instead of the military; whether you worked to support a new born instead of going away to the military; whether you are currently in the military or not.

As was said, it's terrible to vilify citizens for choosing a non-military path, while not avoiding a draft.

And AGAIN, in this discussion, I spoke only as to MY OPINION about the US engaging Russia, not as to what Ukraine troops/citizens should do.

Actually I don't ger emotional over chickenhawks and keyboard warriors.I will call them out if they keep ranting about sending others to fight a cause they believe in but won't do it themselves while calling anyone not agreeing with their internet toughness scared. You are an internet tough guy though I acknowledge that.

Back here in the real world no nation has sent troops to Ukraine to fight Putin.Maybe all the worlds militaries and intelligence agencies are wrong about where this could lead and that Putin is just bluffing and you are right. So be it.
