Russia & Ukraine

Do you not understand that Trump is applauding Putin? Whatever your personal fantasy, at least try to keep it internally consistent.

Yesterday I read or heard somewhere that some of the sanctions that were being implemented in Biden's first tranche were sanctions that were put on after the Crimea invasion and were still in effect. OR NOT. They just get ignored over time.

WOMP!!!!

Biden has this bifurcated spiel about alleged European unity going. He crows about how unified NATO is but then when he toggles over to the governments of the European NATO members he starts getting wobbly real fast. Can't get agreement on SWIFT, various members still want their energy supplies, womp, womp.

Put the blame where it belongs, Germany, Italy, Hungary and Cyprus seem to be opposing. EU will be voting tonight on swift. Let’s see what they do but they need it to be unanimous.

I never trust Turkey on anything that would be helpful to us. Not sure what their position is, have not checked. But I always start by assuming that they will be a pain in the arse and snaky and then work backwards.

I think you're crossing signals. You initially quoted a post where I didn't mention "repel." But I did mention it in the post right before yours:

But that's not the post you quoted.

I'll try to respond as best I can anyway.

I stated that there is a zero chance Ukraine can resist/fight Russia indefinitely.
I later implied/stated that Ukraine can be more effective with asymmetrical tactics than without.
I never implied that Ukraine would win.

If one or more of those responses doesn't fit the bill; let me know what you're specifically asking/stating, and I'll better respond.

I'm disagreeing with you that Ukraine can't counter the Russians and giving examples of when an inferior force did so (AFG vs Russians in late 80's, AFG vs US just recently, Iraq vs US for yrs, Vietnam vs US in the 60's). Obviously dynamics need to align (say if Putin doesn't send in the 80% of standing army mobilized already) as opposed to having a prolonged guerilla conflict that drags for years and plunges his domestic support or Rus. economy.

So in other words; the world should just obey Putin, because you've somehow determined that if you f around with him, he'll blast himself and humanity back to the dark ages.

Did I miss something? Did Putin invade a NATO nation? Or are you just scared in the general sense?

Just send the sniper teams in already. Quit playing pattycake w/sanctions and get this shit over and done with.
