Quote from james_bond_3rd:
This is as dumb as it gets.
Any candidate running against a failed policy with the aim to change that policy is not "taking advantage of a tragedy."
What is Rudy promising to change? Nothing. The only thing that he runs on is 9/11 but is he promising a thorough investigation? No. He is only taking advantage of the tragedy.
Quote from Cesko:
LO.LOL.
Gee he is not promising anything? Then I have to vote for him because that's the first time a politician promises nothing.

Does anyone really think a guy who is pro abortion, anti gun, pro gay agenda, has a messy divorce, marched in gay pride parades and can't carry his home state against Hillary really has a chance of getting the nomination? Give me a break. If he is the nominee, the Republicans will take an historic whipping and perhaps cease to be a major party.
I am frankly sick and tired of hearing what a "hero" he was after 9/11. Any moderately talented politician would have done exactly what he did. Gavin Newsome couldn't have screwed it up.
If this is the best the republicans can come up with, get ready for Blue Dress II.
Quote from Pa(b)st Prime:
You should know. You've used Katrina as a catalyst for Bush hating in scores of posts.
Rudy was the State of New York's Republican nominee for U.S. Senate a year and a half before 9/11. Your suggestion that his ambition for a higher, Federal office is motivated by "taking advantage of a tragedy" is disingenuous.
By your way of thinking, any Democrat who runs as an anti-Iraq war candidate is also "another guy taking advantage of a tragedy."
