That list is bullshit.

There are several billionaires that don't want to be listed. Not everyone with that kind of money wants their name published. Whether they "pull the strings" or not, the Rothschild family IS worth billions.

Then please explain Carlos Slim Helú. The guy wasn't even on the 2005 list, and popped out of nowhere in 2006 at #3 ($30 billion).

Fact is, there are several extremely wealthy people that you've never heard of. Most of the people on the Forbes list are executives or founders of publicly traded companies. In those cases, it's not that difficult to calculate their wealth since most is tied up in the company, and their share ownership is publicly visible through SEC filings.
