This reminds me of Ed Seykota talking about people getting what they want out of the markets and many people using the markets to self sabotage.

Roseanne must not have a great relationship with success or money. That was not just self sabotage it was self destruction.

And that's exactly my point. Did she go way, way over the top? Of course. How she could think this would ever fly without some serious blow back is impossible to believe. She would have won fans and yes, made a few enemies, if she stuck with the Radical Islam apologist theme against Jarrett, but NO WAY to excuse yourself out of the Planet of the Apes reference. Yet Keith gets a job offer, the View will keep on throwing out their insults, and left leaning comedians and others in the political game will slander people at will with little to no consequence.
 
In the long run I don't see this hurting Roseanne much. It's not like she is Samantha Bee or Amy Schumer, ie someone with no talent who is rewarded just for being PC. She had the top-ranked show on TV and they don't grow on trees.
