As others point out, you say things with sort of a desperate certainty when it is really just opinion.
You also say you put in a pretty good number on the Smart-O-Meter. Consider then that the probability of Israel being attacked by multiple countries within perhaps a 5-year window is near unity. It it simply will happen and considering something so inevitable is no fantasy.
The difference now is that some of the combatants have ballistic missiles and some are attempting to develop nuclear weapons, apparently. That raises the stakes so high that it begins to become probable that Israel will employ her nukes.
It could occur this calender year with Cairo, Damascus and Tehran reduced to a smoldering radioactive heap of debris and Obama and his UN friends condemning Israel but doing nothing.
Is that in the interest of the United States?
You won't answer so I will answer for you. It is not in the interest of the United States for several arab (or persian) capitals to be destroyed in this manner. So, if the United States is acting in its own interest it will do much to deter such an attack on Israel in the form primarily of military aid and diplomatic support for Israel.
