Ron Paul isnt qualified to hold office...

Our only incursion in the ME before 9/11 was the rescue of Kuwait. That took about a month.

What glorious military adventures are you referring to?

Would you have preferred to leave Kuwait occupied by Iraq?

Ron Paul's argument doesn't hold up. He thinks if we just hide in the corner the badguys will leave us alone. Its laughable and he deserved to be booed.

Hahahahaha. This guy just doesn't have a clue. Probably gets all his news from Time magazine. Keep your head in the sand and your dick in the dirt.

Hush. The adults are having a conversation.

Here's the way I see it. Israel is more than capable of taking care of itself. I've trained with their military and they are absolutely first rate professional soldiers. They have basically the same military equipment we have, putting them light years ahead of any of their potential adversaries. Let's also remember, they are a nuclear power.

I am not worried about Iran because Iran has never invaded another country. Further, there is no credible evidence Iran is trying to build a bomb (although if I were in their shoes, I'd want one...think about it, they are practically surrounded by nuclear ICBM's). Egypt is a bit dicey now as far as Israel is concerned but I think recognizing Palestinian statehood would go a long way to settling things down. If Israel recognizes Palestine and ends the apartheid like conditions they have imposed on the Palestinians, it would go a very long way towards re-legitimizing Israel (as far as their Muslim counterparts are concerned).

The alternative is to continue doing what they are doing, and further enrage their neighbors.

Either way, it is an area of the world that has been in conflict for eons and nothing we do there will make things any better. Our troops do not belong there. If Israel gets invaded, they are our ally and we should probably respond. Anything short of that means we need to stay out. Remember, these little excursions wind up costing US taxpayers trillions of dollars and as I'm sure you've noticed, we're kinda broke.

If Israel is attacked by many at once it may resort to nuclear weapons. Is that in our interests?

If "Palestine" is recognized as a state what will Israel do the next time missiles are fired from Gaza?

They willl attack, invade, occupy and then annex. Gaza will no longer be treated as a domestic source of terror but instead be dealt with like a country.

Who do you think would invade Israel? That's the beauty of having nuclear weapons...other countries don't tend to mess with you...even if they have them.

If Israel recognizes Palestine, removes troops from their (would be) sovereign land, and leaves them alone, turns the water back on (so to speak), why would the Palestinians fire rockets into Israel, giving the Israelis all the impetus they need to simply take the whole thing over? There would no longer be a need. Now, I'm not suggesting everything would be mai tais and yahtzee on the promenade deck, because again, these folks have been at each other's throats for thousands of years, but it would be a giant step in the right direction.

That may be what they plan to do but that might force Egypt into action. Either way, my humble opinion suggests it's on the Israelis to take care of themselves. We have to divorce ourselves of this policeman of the world mentality...if for no other reason because we now have to turn our attention inward and take care of our own crumbling house.

Quote from 377OHMS:

Ron Paul is an isolationist. He said it himself. It is the central theme of his foreign policy.

Heck, who knows, after we get through printing all this money and trashing the dollar, the US might be forced to become more isolationist by default. If we don't watch out, China is going to gobble up all the resources, while we bankrupt ourselves trying to be the modern day Roman Empire. They seem to be doing all the planning, while US is doing all the fighting.

You don't qualify. You are nothing more than a mouthpiece for Neocon Nation. Also, guarantee. You've never been in the military. Just another chickenhawk. No idea about war or suffering or foreign policy or economics.

Your posts are annoying and delusional. Why don't you go away for a while?

As what? A supply clerk?

If you really had a clue you wouldn't make stupid, definitive statements like this.
