All I know is that a white guy says the country isn't ready, or has had enough of a black anything will be hung out to dry as a racist Klansman, and it wouldn't let up with a simple apology. We aren't ever going to get past race so long as one side or the other keeps bringing it up. Lot's of money and votes to be had for Race Baiting Inc. Plenty for both sides. Can't solve a problem that lucrative, now can we?
 
Valid to say that we cannot get past race, until we actually get past race. Sound silly? Well, of course it does. Chicken and egg type of thing. Color blindness would be nice, in a sense.

When Nixon debated Kennedy, those who listened on radio thought Nixon won the debate, those who watched on TV thought Kennedy won. Based on looks, appearances, how they handled themselves. Similar with race, with voice alteration in some cases due to basic dialects at times. Maybe we could judge people as people without the prejudice.
