Robert De Niro: too soon for "another first white lady"

Quote from cgroupman:

Voters want a good President. Thinking voters don't care about skin color. Racism is sick no matter which 'side' is involved.

c

That's a nice theory. But what I see is this -- whites must walk on eggshells lest they exhibit any sentiment in favor of their own race and be accused of RACISM! Blacks can be openly pro-black and be considered respectable members of society.

Far more blacks will vote for Obama because he's black than whites will vote for Romney (or whoever) because he's white.

I won't vote for any of them, being a thinking voter.

Another olive branch, if you care Mr. Phoenix. Do you really live or work in Phoenix? I travel there quite often, enjoy the area a lot. One of my companies used to have offices there, no longer. Just a sideline one, in the environmental business, hope that doesn't bother you. We built several facilities with clean technology and all that.

Phoenix doesn't reference the city.

Ok, sorry. Perhaps the Rising of the Phoenix? Not a big deal, and not trying to get too personal, just my nature to try to believe the best in everyone, even if we disagree on some things.

Quote from cgroupman:

Let's see, 'hooded brethren'? Is that some swipe against sweatshirts? Or does one race wear more cotton hoodies than another? Am I 'brother'? I guess when you get past name calling, you just make things up. Sorry for that, not my usual style.

How about this:

Would you care to carry on a civil discussion, I'm here for you. Drop all the silliness, and let's get back to good old American discussions. You up for that? I'm serious.

As REW points out it's not the white conservatives that have been acting klannish these days.

Quote from PHOENIX TRADING:

Bingo, maybe you are only 1/2 liberal.
No. He's 100% liberal. He just likes to toss a false bone now and then. Rest assured it's attached to a string and he will pull it back as soon as you try to pick it up.

"c" is a walking, talking embodiment of political correctness. No depth to any one of his/her posts; just a bunch of cliched platitudes.

Quote from rew:

...but any white person who says, "I want a white president!" is cast into the outer darkness as a neo-Nazi or a Klansman.

Actually, just being for smaller, less intrusive gov earns you those titles by many in the left.

If only.

Obama is president for one reason only, his race. Just as he was editor of the Harvard Law review for one reason only, race. Just as he got into Harvard Law, one reason only race. Ditto, Columbia.

He has embodied the hopes and dreams of a certain segment of white liberal america for a long time. A respectable, leftwing socialist black man, not weighed down by race hustling, drugs, crime, abused women, illegitimate children, etc. Give him credit for being smart enough to see it and exploit it.

He was probably the least qualified major party candidate ever to run for president, and he has been one of our worst presidents. Not only has he presided over the destruction of our economy and finances, he has thumbed his nose at the constitution and asserted powers that would have had democrats renting their clothes if a republican had tried it. Just as one small example, did George Bush ever claim a right to assasinate american citizens extrajudicially, even inside the US? Perhaps worse, he has reflexively chosen the low road in political discourse. He regularly demonizes his opposition and resorts to the worst sort of class hatred demagoguery.

The affirmative action POTUS.
