The Constitution does not say it had to be.Point is Congress can define the size of DC up to 10 miles sq.
Nice try, but that is The Constitutional way for them to get representation.
Of course after DC we need to make the territories states.
That is the precedent. And if Maryland would not agree to it, then DC would remain the way it is now. These are just the facts.
There is a better argument there as most states have become states after being territories. DC cannot be made a state however as it's unconstitutional.
DC has been previously resized.New states have previously been created.That is precedent.
Were that the case, then LA, NY and Chicago could be made states. By the way, that would actually help Republicans in Congreff and The Electoral College.
