Quote from rew:
I think Paul could defeat Obama, something the Republicans absolutely refuse to acknowledge. Paul's greatest impediment to reaching the Presidency is the large number of war mongers in his own party. Romney is an empty shell, and I think more people are realizing that. Love him or hate him, people know where Paul stands, and know that he means what he says.
And yes Cain has just announced that he's out of the race, due to his own bimbo explosion. So now the anybody-but-Ron-Paul segment of the Republican party is switching to the inside beltway slime ball, Newt Gingrich. This is the best thing that could have happened for Obama.
Paul would definitely defeat Obama, but he will not get the chance to run. He is being pushed to go third party, but he does know that a divided GOP will not defeat a united Dem party.
And, yet, as some point, someone will have to break away from the two Party system. Paul would take the youth vote from both parties and all the Constitutionalists. The Tea Party and the Occupiers would both choose Paul. Maybe he should run.
The Indies will never support Eye of Newt. Newt will make it close as he will carry all of the South and probably the Mountain West, but the Northeast, Midwest and Pacific West all belong to Obama now.
Mittens had the chance to split the Northeast and Midwest, which would make the South the battleground. This would be dangerous electorially for Obama, because if Mittens were to carry, say, Ohio. Obama would almost have to carry Florida or Texas.
Now, the Southern Strategy is back into full effect. Good luck with that, GOP
