Republican Establishment In Panic Mode

The Washington Post ran a front page article today on the near panic gripping the party establishment and donor class. It seems the idiot voters do not understand what is best for them and are actually contemplating ignoring the wishes of the party bosses and check writers. The consensus that Trump and Carson would fall away has been replaced by the glum acceptance that it isn't likely to happen.

Even worse, focus group testing of attacks on Trump and Carson have fallen flat. Their voters really just don't care that they might have favored something like socialized medicine, Trump, or had a troubled youth and less than perfect recall of past events, Carson. Trump in particular has responded to attacks with "withering" counterpunches that have given the ultra cautious consultants further pause. He's not really a guy you want to get into an insult contest with, because for him, nothing is off the table. Your shots don't faze his voters but his destroy you. See Jeb!.

The panic level is so high some desperately want to get former candidate Mitt Romney into the race. They have even mapped out a way to wire a convention for him. He isn't interested, so far.

The story lays out the basis for the elites' fear. Trump or Carson might threaten their Senate majority. This is their actual fear. The idea that maybe voters are pissed off by the spectacle of lying senators supinely yielding to obama on issue after issue they had promised to block is not even discussed.

The article hints at but doesn't come out and confirm what Rush has been saying, namely that republican elites would probably prefer Hillary to Trump and certainly to Cruz.

Republicans and anything "right wing", conservative.. are completely irrelevant.

The Leftists/Progressives/Communists/parasites are now >50% of the electorate. All else is nothing more than noise distraction... a "circle jerk", if you will. Of course, I don't want to believe or accept that... but it's fact, sadly. AMERICA, AS OUR GENIUS FOUNDERS ENVISIONED AND TRIED TO PROVED FOR US VIA THE CONSTITUTION... IS FUCKING DOOMED!

:(

Those establishment idiots were so greedy. All they had to do was give us a win on Obamacare.

Now we know they are not conservatives nor even traditional republicans. They are sellouts.

How they could not have understood what it mean when Bratt defeated Cantor is beyond me. They should have immediately said... donors... we have to take down obamacare... what would you like instead.

Yet we control both houses of congress, a majority of statehouses and governorships, etc. It's just that in presidential electiosn, the large parasite/grievance class that is concentrated in big cities can outvote us, or if it's close, we get cheated by vote fraud.

I did find it ironic that the party elites desperately want to recruit Romney, a proven loser who ran a terrible campaign against a very beatable Obama.

Those establishment idiots were so greedy. All they had to do was give us a win on Obamacare. Or if they had given us a win on the amnesty before the courts did.

Now we know they are not conservatives or even normal republicans. They are establishment sellouts whose word is as trustworth as Bill Clinton. In fact Bill Clinton would be a better vote then they are. The establishment and their consultants are going to have to retool. They will have to give in to the base in some areas just to get votes back in their corner. In short they were greedy, over confident, tone deaf, almost morons on the issue of the base. How they could not have understood what it mean when Bratt defeated Cantor is beyond me. They should have immediately said... donors... we have to take down obamacare what would you like instead.

True but apparently they don't think like that. They think like they are playing golf. The idea is not necessarily to hit a great shot but to avoid a really bad one. Their political DNA was permanently scarred by the government shutdown during Clinton's term, which cost them big. So now, like a cat that jumped on a hot stove once, they will never jump on another hot stove but that means they avoid a lot of cold ones as well.

Defeating them on any issue is ridiculously easy for obama. Use the senate filibuster and if for some reason that is not available, threaten a government shutdown. It helps immensely when the republicans actually want to lose and just pretend they are fighting. That's why they despise Cruz so much. He plays to win.

The rinos would rather have Hillary than a conservative (I'm not including Trump in that, but this applies to him as well). Putting loser Romney up again, if they can make it happen, will make Hillary a very happy camper.

Romney didn't have the stones to criticize the radical obama, even after a failed four years. Rubio passed up a fat pitch to criticize Hillary at the last debate. This is not coincidence. The consultants convince these gullible candidates that voters don't want to hear personal criticism. Meanwhile, the democrats and Trump ignore them.

I don't like the way Trump treats Carson, but I like the way he treats Rove. A lot.

Establishment will be in bigger panic mode by tomorrow because the attacks in France are going to cast an even bigger light on immigration, especially the fairly quiet stance of us bringing refugees in from the ME, (though in that case, I don't know what is said regarding the law), often un-vetted according to the FBI. I expect Trump to be at the forefront of that, regardless, though he will have to distinguish between what is legal vs. illegal...again, not sure where that issue is regarding refugees (though it's probably a certainty that not all refugees are actually that...as stated by IS). Trump has no fear of PC, which is one of the things I do like about him (and the facial expressions :D). I expect he'll be all over the media tomorrow with his opinion of the France murders and tying it to illegal immigration.
