from the overwhelming evidence that was Paul was a Gnostic. The Gnostics never believed in a literal story of Jesus.

The myth of the resurrecting godman called jesus was just the palestinian/jewish version of the story of Dionysus, Osiris, Mithras etc.

I'll post a longer explanation if you like, but i'm meeting my girlfriend soon. (as much fun as it is to chew the fat here on ET, there's other things in life too!:))

thanks for the intellectual exercises. all we need now is to conjure up the mighty darkhorse. i am curious to see what he has to say.

just say know,

If you read what Paul said it completely contradicts what you say. I don't care what your personal belief is I just didn't want to let go of the false information.Your argument "because he was a Gnostic at some point in his life therefore..." just doesn't hold up given what he wrote.

Axeman and Daniel.

I said seem to have contradicted. I sure as hell (excuse me TBolt) am not going to re-read 900 posts.

If you guys claim you have not, I will take it at that. But certainly there have been some contradictions made by both sides of this "debate". Possibly I mistook contradictions made by different people arguing the same side.

Bottom line is this just seems to have gone into a loop. Do we NOT agree that it is an academic debate? That there is no CERTAINTY to any of it?

How can proof be offered by either side? You must have noticed each side asks for proof from the other. Neither side can offer it, because it's not provable.

Unless you want to use the "calendar argument"....
To which I would have to quote GG and his mom. With a big LOL.

Peace,

Aphie,

This is starting to get very familiar.

I have to agree with you about there being no resolution to this debate. However I think it can be scored. But both sides seem to be losing momentum. All of the participants seem to have contradicted themselves by now. Except for Thunderbolt. Who is obviously not to be reasoned with. [/B]

Thanks!:p

Tbolt, my man. Do you not think you have been a bit dogmatic?

By the way, I renamed my fantasy football team in your honor.

Too good!! You should have saved this one for an actual Darkhorse response.

To you mind if I plagiarize you at a later date?:)

Jeffo,

It's a lost cause. I've tried to get through, but it's hollow in there. I've given the story of Jesus and his undeniable existence. I just hope people can see the truth--that's all. It's not for argument's sake.
