Regarding the Existence or Absence of God

As history lessons have repeatedly demonstrated:

In the name of religion, justice, and righteousness,
some of the worst crimes against our human race have been committed.

I already told you Thunderbolt,

there is no need in quoting mythology.
It will not convince us of anything.

Your reasoning is completely circular.

You are using a book, which has not been proven
factual, to support the existence of a mythical figure,
who's sole evidence is provided by that very same book :D

Greek mythology is FULL of all kinds of miracles.
For example, Zues took human form all the time.
This does not make it true.

If I wrote a book tommorrow about some dude who
performed 35 miracles instead of Jesus's 34, would
that make him the TRUE god??? :D

I simply reply, his law is above man's law. When Jesus spoke, he spoke with authority. "I am the way" " I am the light" "When you see me you see the father" "No man sees the father except through me" . Yet he never drew the first sword. He never sled any blood. That's the true Christianity I speak of. He made the blind see, the cripple walk, the deaf hear and the sick well. Over 34 miracles and no other religion can say that about their leader. Not Buddha, not Mohammed--not even the scientologists.

Humility is the answer. You humble yourself to the point that you just except the fact that he is a superior being who created the complexities of this world( and beyond) and you are just a product of that complex equation.

I cant accept the fact that he is a superior being
until you AT LEAST first prove his existence.

I might as well say that you should accept the fact
that the 11 headed purple unicorn
on mars is a superior being.
Would you believe THAT? :D

Why is this so difficult to grasp?

Your claims are based on HUGE unproven assumptions
(gods existence, biblical truth)

Axeman, I'm going to presume that you are young(18-30) and naive. Myself, 33. I too was in your condition. I was not raised in a religious family. My beliefs came from listening to evangelists like Ravi Zachorias, a very educated Indian man who became a Christian @ 17. Visit his website: www.rzim.org and just listen. He speaks of the very issues you are struggling with. Is there a God?

buddy, i highly doubt that axeman is 'struggling' with 'issues' about god..

Your presumption is incorrect.
I am older than you.
I was raised christian.

I have studied your religion and others
for over 2 decades.

I have read the bible many times.
I have studied other religions.
I have studied atheism, agnosticism and humanism as well.
I have studied evolution.
I have studied christian history. (SCARY STUFF).
I have debated people on the subject, including priests,
ministers, etc for years. (They cant.)

Can you make the same claim?
What have you read OUTSIDE of your religion???

How many books on atheism have you read?
How many books on evolution?
How many books on critical thinking?

Your question dodging and lack of rational/logical
replies, makes it clear to me that you are
the one struggling here.

You have STILL failed to address the contradiction
I pointed out. Im still waiting. I suspect you have
no rational answer.

peace

Look around you at creation. If this doesn't give you your answer, which should be obvious, then you're not going to accept any other "proof".

If you think that the mere existence of matter
proves the existence of god, then you really should
sign up for a critical thinking 101 course and then come
back to this debate.

I can give you a million arbitrary, completely made up, explainations for our material existence.

None of which would be any less convincing
than yours.

I could simply claim that everything always existed.
I could simply claim that everything just popped into existence.
I could simply claim, that a slug took a big shit and
the universe sprung forth from said shit.

All these claims would be just as silly as your implication.
