red wine

I have tried the pump but it does not give perfect results. Can you fortify wine with whiskey and increase the alcohol percent so it can last longer. ?

WTF? :)
you dont want the spend the money for a good system but want to add whiskey....
you think the taste changes that much that adding whiskey will be a good idea....
.............hah ha ha kerplonk

I suggest you leave the red wine drinking to those who enjoy subtle flavour differences (these also occur between fresh bottles - often unfortunately)

Also what you are likely to be looking for is something like "resveratrol" - like most things it comes with its own health warnings, but none of the joy of great wine! :)

The health benefits from red wine come from the skin of the grape during the wine making process. I doubt you'll find the same benefits from grape juice from concentrate, especially if it's the kind that is loaded with sugars and other chemicals.

Will red grape juice from concentrate give me same health benefits as red wine? Thanks

I would like to get health benefits of red wine but I cant finish a bottle every day. On the second and third day the taste changes and I donot like this. Is there some product like red wine but it can be stored in the bottle for several days? Thanks

1. You can squirt compressed nitrogen into an open bottle to replace air/oxygen, then re-cork quickly. Should be available from liquor store or online.

2. Boxed wine. The bag inside collapses and doesn't allow oxygen to enter. Box instructions say, "for fresh taste, consume within 3-4 weeks of opening" (I have no wine palate myself, but my former next door neighbor is a sommelier, and she says some of the box wines are very good. I serve some at neighborhood parties. MUCH more convenient than bottles.)

The health benefits from wine are very limited. The Resveratrol in best crop of grapes is very limited, and varies a lot from minimal to none. The evidence behind any "health or longevity" claims to Resveratrol itself is sketchy. Most reliable evidence points to the alcohol as the benefactor in any beverage.

Wouldn't it make more "sense" to do "that" with cognac instead?

Forget resveratrol, red wine is high in antioxidants and polyphenols which are health promoting. Of course, you may be able to get these from fruits and veggies themselves but where is the fun in that! :D
