Pic came out crap but this is it. Full disclosure I'm running Linux on this box and the kernel I'm using doesn't support the drivers for the latest AMD video cards so I'm slumming it in 4k until I revert back to the other box I was using where it worked great. In the pic there are a lot of overlapping windows for my crypto bot, my futures trading software, browser, stock price scanners, etc. The idea behind 8k is to avoid having to overlap any windows so I can see everything and react without having to fiddle. At 8k this theory works great and as soon as I get it back going I'll post another pic.
The bright side is the monitor runs at 120 hertz when in 4k so if you're a gamer you'll really like it. Variable refresh rate too so no screen tearing. Also, multiple dimming zones so blacks look black. The contrast ratio is amazing. And, uh, pardon the mess.

It does straddle the edge of being just a little too big. Originally I was after a 55" 8k screen that Samsung makes but they were sold out plus after reading the reviews of the overlay Samsung uses on their big televisions and how it smears text I felt better about getting the TCL. The distance to the side doesn't really bother me but having to look up at anything toward the top can be a strain (I sit 4-5 feet away) so I just put the most important stuff down low. Charts I'm day trading and browser windows, whereas status windows like the crypto bot and swing trade stock scanners go to the top. That way they're out of the way but I can glance up whenever and see what's happening. Using the bottom half of the display is like having 2 32" 4k screens side by side just without the bezel so it's probably a bit smaller than even that. In fairness if I could have gotten this screen in 55 inch size it would be perfect. All that said the productivity advantage at full resolution is peerless. 8k is equivalent to 16 1080p monitors or 4 4k monitors. As long as the screen is big enough so the text is comfortably legible there's nothing like it.That's a huge beast! Do you have any problems with height of the monitor and the fact that it's not curved? At what distance are you sitting from the monitor?
You'd be surprised how well 8k works on this size screen. You have the real estate of 4 32" 4k monitors in a grid so if you maintain the same dpi you would with a single 32 inch 4k monitor just on a 65 inch 8k monitor, text is about the same size. In my estimation it's slightly too large without any scaling which is why I mention above a 55 inch at this resolution is probably closer to ideal.Do you need a magnifying glass to read the text on 8K?
That's a sweet desk. Mine is one of those standing desks where you turn the crank. Naturally I'm too lazy to ever raise it up but at the time of purchase my heart was in the right place. You good with that desk?
Easy desk - https://www.elitetrader.com/et/threads/trading-chairs.226092/page-20#post-5323470
Chair is a Costco special. The acoustic guitar is a cheap Yamaha but the electric is a Fender Stratocaster special edition set up for rock with a Floyd Rose bridge and it plays so well. What chair(s) are you using?
What electric guitar are you using?
Very nice. I have two desks with two CPU’s in an “L” configuration similar to yours.
I keep an acoustic and a Strat next to my work space also but dude, use guitar stands. Broken necks and or headstocks are no fun.It does straddle the edge of being just a little too big.
