It's fun and easy to loan money that you desperately want a rental income (the risk premium) on, but deny that you should take your medicine when the very reason for that risk premium becomes reality.
You gambled, you lost, suck it up, Gerry.
They've been sucking it up since the last bailout, moron.
Germany is only getting paid back as a result of German taxpayers giving Greece the money to pay it back.
I don't care whether they write off the previous debt or not. That's history. I just hate to think that German taxpayers are going to lend yet more money to a country that will never pay it back. If they do give them money, it should be clearly disclosed as a gift and not a loan, so when Germany has elections, their citizens can decide if they like gifting money away to Greece instead of being snookered into believing it's a loan they'll be paid back.
The Greek mayor has basically said, "It's fun and easy to spend money you don't have (that is, borrowed)... but it's not fun to pay it back."
Who didn't know that?
The krauts already did "support" the Greeks, with their loans up to the start of the recession. If a gift... doubt the German people will view supporting the Greek parasites any more favorably than we in America like supporting ours.

But, but, Putin is such a real man, compared to Obama (see the shirtless photos!), who would NOT want to be bailed out by Russia?and the funny thing, this is just like the 1950's. If we don't bail out Greece, Russia will. And that is the threat? How would YOU like to be bailed out by Russia?
