This is typical radical left "news reporting". This is not the op-ed section, it's the homepage of the business section of the LA Times-

"Against all odds and expectations, enrollments in health plans qualified under the Affordable Care Act are surging Monday...."

How the fuck is this guy making Obamacare out to be The Little Engine that Could?

How many tens of billions have been throw at that law so far? Many people signing up are FORCED to or they will pay a much larger penalty.

Just look at the comments section after the article. Not a single pro Obamacare comment (my favorite- "You can tell us all you want how well this law is working, we will let you know in November if we believe you.")

It's a shame what has happened to journalism in this country.
 
I commernted on a similar article the other day concerning signups in florida. Today's "journalists" either cannot appreciate the difference in reporting and advocacy or don't care. More likely, they consider it their real job.

There is very little reason to waste time and money on most newspapers today. The only section that provides any real value is the sports and you can get that online for free. I do make an exception for the Washington Times, which is exceptional. The Washington Examiner is also exceptional, but I believe they are online only now.

Problems with this:

1. The data source has proven itself to be very unreliable.
2. Assuming true, that 6mm isn't the amount of people who have paid for a plan (which is far more relevant) but the amount who have added a plan to a shopping basket.
3. Risk pools predicted under the original 7mm people are vastly different (and not in a good way) than current "signed up" individual pool.
4. Expansion of medicaid is responsible for a good deal of those individuals from what I gather.
5. This doesn't take into consideration people forced off their previous plans and onto this marketplace - which has pissed off a number of individuals.

Did I miss anything?
