QuoteTracker Bought out by TD AMERITRADE! YIKES!

Since BOA has put its free trade hat in the ring...

Can you imagine free trades with true direct access via TDA and QT ...........

Nothing is so certain as change itself....

Quote from version77:

Is this user group endorsed or whatever by TD/Ameritrade/QT?...

From what I understand, it was started by users and only the owner
and participants have control over it...

Ameritrade?

The only person I know who uses Ameritrade is that hack from Law and Order.

$60 a year?

OR

$60 a month?

I wonder which it'll be.

Good for Jerry.

Good for Ensign.

We'll see if its good for QT users.

You know who should have bought them?

Who's in need of some good charting?

IB.

And you know the fees for non-IB customers would have been reasonable.

Worse come to worse, Just going to have to open an Ameritrade account. I hope they don't or won't have any inactivity fees.

Colin, thanks for the link to the new forum. Are you guys going to try to get access to the old QT forum archives?

jc

Yes trying to but it will be slow going as everything has to be passed by the brokers compliance

The new www.QTusers.com user group has already a number of sessioned QuoteTracker traders with years of knowledge of QT so i'd expect most questions and problems could be dealt with by them

Quote from Wayne Gibbous:

OMG.

This is certainly shiitey news.

I've used QT for YEARS and it is an important part of my auto system. With just a click I can snag any of a huge number of quote sources with no programming changes.

We know what happened to Wealth-lab after the buy out...

Time to start programming up some new stuff. :(

edit: and double crap - IB was my backup quote source.

and double double crap - what's the chance it will remain free?

The real value of QT lies in its numerous data adapters for different quote sources. How have they achieved this remains a secret until this day. Despite what QT has claimed, most of brokers don't offer programming interface for quote data consuming.

It's a shame that providing real/eod quote data service is still an advantage to some of today's brokerage in the line of service they've provided. Fortunately, Bank of America has lead the way to offer free stock trading, then free quote data should be the next.

QT has its time mostly due to the scarce of trading resources, transaction, data etc since the beginning of the discount/online trading era. Beyond QT, the jewel of trading will be analytics, strategy based, money management, dynamic portfolio, where some trading software have made limited attempt, wealth-lab, tradestation, eSignal to name a few, mainwhile a new breed of trading software has started to emerge.
