QT has its time mostly due to the scarce of trading resources, transaction, data etc since the beginning of the discount/online trading era.

Maybe it's just me but all this stuff seems cyclical to me (same thing was happening 1999-2001). I hope it does become more competitive by the industry blowing the door off the hinges instead of just keeping it ajar. It would mean the loss of a way of life for some (good ol' boys), but it would bring a lot more money into the market in the long run. (dumb money too
