it's just a change of ownership, (and you're gonna be paying more bucks for the software when you renew, but that's the way it goes and don't worry about that right now, cross that bridge when you get there).

it's not the end of the world.

QT is a charting software which is used to assimilate and analyze market data, you don't need it to make trades, you don't need to download data for analysis, you don't need it for auto-trading (in fact, it doesn't have auto-trade capability).

it's just charts, that's all.

nothing more, nothing less.

Give it time ... slowdown.

I completely agree to parts of your msg -- but I have my whole system set-up there and do integrated trading thru IB. If i can't do that anymore, QT is of no use to me. I need to trade IB thru QT.

Hey, I feel you, man.

QT was a good charting program long before they provided integrated trading capability with retail brokers.

This situation doesn't necessarily change anything for you.

There are other options out there as well (I personally use Ninja Trader).

At this point, the NT charts are just average.

I don't use them to trade, I just use them (NT) as an order entry platform, while taking my trade signals off of the QT charts.

So this whole transferal of ownership thing doesn't really affect my trading, except that I know that at some point in the future I can probably expect a raise hike, and if I don't like it, I can go someplace else.

Oh yeah, there probably won't be too many fancy new additions to QT in the future (but maybe there will be, who knows, I don't), and Jerry decided to take the money, hang-out for a while, and then run, but hey, that's his perogative.

I find it interesting that he hasn't weighed in with a comment as of yet ... probably too busy counting his dough. :eek:
