IB are a brokerage and both run an unmoderated input board and post on this one (they might delete problematic posts later but they don't stop you posting them).

Sounds like bullshit to me.

I think the purpose of TD-A's acquisition, of QT, was gradually to undermine QT's use by competing brokerages. The elimination of QT's bboards, and the elimination of public comment by Medved (who I greatly respect), are just the first steps taken toward this agenda. I think it is very similar to the recent anti-competitive purchases of ARCA, INET, and BRUT by NYSE and Nasdaq. Just a few days ago, without any notice, it became impossible to get the ARCA bid and ask without paying an extra $10 per month.

Ameritrade simply can't afford to provide the attention and devotion that Jerry Medved & Co applied to that support channel...
 
Let's say there are 1,000 users of QT from around the world.

Let's say that Ameritrade plans on upping the price of QT to $20 per month.

(Remember, I am making this all up)...

Do you really think Ameritrade/QT wants to dump 20k a month = $240k
a year?

How many Ameritrade users even trade intraday or even with charts?

Most Ameritrade/E*Trade type users buy and hold... = investors...

I don't think most of them even have any use for QT. You can get
charts all over the Internet for free...

Just my ever so humble opinion.

Then again, I could be dead wrong.

But as you know, there are many competing products out there
that QT'ers can go to. I am sure Ameritrade knows that. Unless
they don't have any brains in their heads. Which is possible...

Perhaps Ameritrade/QT is heading that direction...
 
One thing I have been thinking about is maybe after the transfer to
Ameritrade is totally complete, you won't be able to ask for a pro-rated
refund from QT.

If everyone knew that NOW, all would bail and ask for pro-rated
refunds which would cost someone some bucks...

Especially if they knew QT would only be good for Ameritrade users
sometime soon.

Hopefully, Jerry's commitment to Ameritrade is limited in time.

Then, the Medved's can start up a new platform that blows away QT...:cool:

QT has some limit's that I don't think they can get around.

But a new platform could eliminate those limiting factors.
