What's nice is getting to the bottom of someone's agenda. Wear your stripes proudly, man. Don't pretend you're something you're not.
That's not so hard with right wingers at all
It's not exactly a herculean task doing it with you, either.
Of course it's not when all you do is rely on strawman arguments.
If it gets the job done, it matters little what you consider them to be.
Identifying logical fallacies is pretty important when dealing with right wingers, they can't speak a line without resorting to one - so yes, it's important what tools are used
I would agree. However, what you perceive these tools to be is only coming from your vantage point. What matters is how the conversation is perceived to the world (or the microcosm the debate is presented to). You can think you are totally on point and have everyone around you going "wtf...really??" That's probably a common occurrence with you, I'm guessing.
Facts and logic stand on their own regardless of outside perception because everyone filters the world according to their own little biases.
If you show facts, then yes. But just because you say something doesn't make it a fact. Much, if not most/all of what you tend to argue is a view point. You're not arguing "the sky is blue" or mathematics that can be proven without the shadow of a doubt. You're providing editorials and perspective. That's not facts. Some of those statements can be logic, no doubt. I haven't read all your arguments with others (there's just too damned many) but the ones you are having with me sorely lack logic. Like the one on the evidence thread.
