Being able to block specific users from your threads will be implemented this weekend.
Please make it transparent, so we know who has been blocked. E.g.:
Members blocked from this thread: User1, User2, ...

Perhaps also a daily/weekly/yearly statistics which User got the highest number of blocks from all threads! lol
If we had that, number of blocks received could become a badge of honour, like ASBOs did in the UK. (For some bizarre reason there was talk of renaming these antisocial behaviour orders to CRIMBOs, as if that would diminish them as a badge of honour!)
I don't think this will be too big of a problem. Even a troll wants to have a history. You are nothing without your posting history online. If you take any comment from someone you consider a troll and pretend you read it from someone who has only 2 or 3 posts, you simply wouldn't think much of the post and move on.I guess this feature will only encourage the rise of multiple aliases, as with ignore feature it's sort of kept at bay, by knowing one is blocked he will create another username and keep on posting. You can't fight fire with fire. But the user base will grow and it's great for ET!
You never acknowledged the fact that you too do this exact same thing you want a feature to fight back against.
Simply stop arguing with Surf and B1S2 on every single thread and 30% of the bitching would probably go away overnight.
As I said, if they'd never invaded and attempted to disrupt my threads, none of it would ever have come up.
You invade their threads as well. You do the exact same thing. You refuse to acknowledge that FACT yet are trying to justify your own dysfunctional responses to them due to them initiating something with you? That's a cop out and as someone with a psychological background, as you claim to have, you should simply know better.
Bad behavior is not justified by matching bad behavior regardless of who started it first. Take some actual responsibility rather than trying to pin the blame on everyone else here.
