Question for the Sarah Palin haters.

Quote from Ricter:

I think he's another one who subscribes to the "anyone but Obama" mantra, which is laughable since a like mantra has been condemned for putting Obama into office in the first place.
So it was acceptable to use that mantra as a reason for voting for Obama but it's not an acceptable reason to vote for anyone but Obama?

I like palin's themes. She deserves credit for reworking ronald reagans themes.

But, saying she is not intellectually curious is really just a nice way of saying she seems to dumb to President.

In my opinion she has until the primaries to overcome how stupid she looked during some of her initial interviews.

How do you know she's "not intellectually curious"?

Who IS intellectually curious?

And if you can come up with a legit name, "how do you know"?

When has it ever been required a president be intellectually curious?

I would vote for the CEO of Intel, after I read the reasons hes building that new plant in oregon, for once a corporation seems, almost patriotic. He has my vote

In my opinion she was charismatic photogenic and uninformed about basic things most thinking people would have known.

She appeared stupid at times. Is she dumb... probably not. But how the heck could she have been so ignorant of basic things any politician or curious person would know.

But, I like many of her Ronald Reagan like stances on issues. We want small central govt.

I am sure many conservatives hope she has spent the last few years educating herself. I hope - by the time of the debates... she erases any concern she is dumb.

The problem is that those Regan like stances seem to be manufactured when it comes to her. I am a staunch conservative, but i can not support her, because she seems very much contrived, as she didnt really have opinions on things from the start. Had she came out strongly on alot of the issues from the get go i might be able to support her more, but it seemed she only really learned what her principles were shortly after Katie Couric made he look like a total fool. The fact that it took her almost becoming the VP for her to come out advocating all these positions, makes me also think she wasnt "Intellectually curious" before she got nominated. There are lots of politicians like her who live in smaller areas who only care about the things surrounding them, and lots of them are good fiscal conservatives, but you need more then that to be president, and you need to have positions you have thought about long before considering becoming president to make you a good leader.

With that said i would still vote for a contrived conservative(Palin), over a devout marxist(Obama).

Quote from Maverick74:

Well, Obama quit his job as a Senator to run for President serving only 2 years of a 6 year term. All politicians do this. Most politicians also line their pockets with money. Have you seen how many members in congress are millionaires?

And what specifically in terms of misinformation has she been spreading?

BTW, I'm not a Palin supporter but I really get amused by all the hate towards her. I actually think she is too moderate.

Since not one liberal Palin hater on this thread has been able to post one intelligent critique of her (big shocker there), I'll actually post one.

My beef with Palin is a big one and it stems from a fundamental lack of understanding how government works. She goes around the country giving stump speeches about smaller government and lower taxes and the deficit but yet she is strong supporter of the industrial military complex. I have not heard one thing from her how we should reduce the size of our military budget.

Cutting discretionary spending does nothing to solve our deficit problem. There is only way to fix the debt and that is to make substantial cuts to social security, medicare and the defense spending. Now I know no one wants to go on the record this early in the 2012 campaign as saying they want to make these cuts as it will be a sound bite played over and over for the next 2 years. But I honestly think she has no desire to make these cuts and quite frankly might not even think they are necessary. This is deeply concerning to me.

Why can't liberals articulate these ideas. What is it in their genetic makeup that keeps them from making coherent arguments and instead resolving to ad-hominem attacks and childish remarks.

Wow...10 pages and so far the best negative thing with any substance that anyone has come up with, is from someone who is not a Palin hater, just a non-supporter, and its not even really that bad or different from any other republican politician.

Anyway...even though I am a Palin supporter I will put my 2 cents in what I dont like about her. I dont like that she responds to everyones attacks. She likes to feed the trolls in my opinion.

I would put Obama in the same category.
Everything he did for the last 2 years were initiatives from the Liberal congress.
Obama had no principles coming into office about economics ,military or foreign policy.
He ended up taking Bush's foreign policy and Pelousi's domestic program and the only success has been the Bush part.

What Palin does better is get her message out and motivate the public.
Obama talks and loses the public.

Palin has learned a lot and uses advisers to develop her ideas. To me that is leadership.

Comparing Obama to Palin

One person was a constitutional law professor, Columbia University educated, and educated in US Law from Harvard University Law School. The other bounced between 1 private college,2 community colleges and the University of Idaho twice before finally getting a degree in journalism .

He took from Republican domestic programs as well.He continued the Bush polices of bailouts, massive deficit spending, patriot act, homeland security, left Gitmo open, and he's about to continue the Bush Tax cuts.He took Republican Mitt Romney's health care plan.Obama's polices are more Bush and Romney then Nancy Pelousi.

Obama's presidency is 80 % Bush and Romney policies yet republicans say he is a failure and a socialist while Bush was a 2 term Republican president and Romney came in second place for the 2008 GOP nomination and is the frontrunner for the 2012 GOP nomination

Quote from peilthetraveler:

If Sarah Palin were to become president, what is it that you fear so much that she would do to this country that would be detrimental to you or someone else?

I don't hate her and I hope she runs just for the entertainment value and being a spoiler but to answer your question:

I fear that Sarah as president:

- she might choke to death on a pretzel
- she would start illegal and/or unwinable wars
- she could declare victory when the war isn't over
- she might bailout the big corporations using taxpayer money
- she could inappropriately touch another heads of states
- she could generally be a puppet run by the VP
- etc.etc.

Not like these ever happened, but Sarah is stupid enough to do these things.

Run Sarah, run....

P.S.: What is this shit Barbara Bush talking degradating about her??
