I was on the YM... YM PRV specifically... Also, I had been comparing the Red peaks all thru the channel and they were decreasing. The last retrace was not as strong. There was a confluence of several things. On the 5M we were at the most profitable right side of the market (ie. the LTL, coarse->medium), where profits are locked in. Note that there are slight differences in the two ES/YM channels of the 33 chart. On the YM there was a noticeable FTT (medium change->go to fine). On ES it was SOP. There subtlety here is in the disparity of these two futures assets. Regard this fact that we are annotating two different assets. They are correlated but not 100%. One leads the other. The Dow has 30 components. The S&P has 500. There is an inherant lag in 500 components moving wrt 30. Admittedly also, there was some feel biasing in. That I cannot explain and is likely to be more subconscious... Usually the most favorable aspect is being ASAP on the YM. I was also watching str/squ stuff but that is still hyper at this point in my process development.

Can you explain this please, how are profits locked in, I understand that you hold trades, or reverse them on a FTT, BO, FBO etc but until then the trade is open ?

Two ways to lock in...

1) Exit on the LTL
2) Reverse on the LTL

Also the reverse is before BO. Before a BO, there is an FTT, S, R, or LTL. Grob can clarify if I this is incomplete. There are also medium details/sequences of these zones...

Your questions from yesterday are quite good and revealing of your focus on making money. A discussion of trading tactics may develop eventually. Do you trade ES?

I have a hard time determining when the ST trend will slalom along S or R (like yesterday).

I have some rules of thumb for this that basically have to do with the position and direction of the ST channel in the IT and LT context.

Are there other clues to knowing when you'll get a bounce or two and when you'll get a long grinder?
