The STALL...
For one reason or another, a single bar STALL (ie. insider bar) is alot tougher for me than a HVS. An HVS might as well be a HIGH VOLUME STALL. Either way, the single bar data gathering of a HVS is a GO because of the EXTREME volume. EXTREME volume just means the direction (dP/dt) is swift and translating (ie. lack of 2 pairs). On occasion, the scalpers do their thing and then the mid bar the direction will change and come right back to the open bid/ask pair. If I am being picky, simply because the bar has already moved more than a descent number of points, I'll watch carefully the FUTURES/CASH STR.SQU. It is a tad different because I am using the EURODOLLAR futures to get the slight g real-time FMV variations. So far, so good but needs polishing as usual.
On a SINGLE BAR STALL, (ie. inside bar), it is tough for me and I typically either ride out the bar (sideline/hold through it). My tip off as usual is the sudden drop in PRV volume wrt to the previous bar, hence the 2 to 3 bar display. For those who are used to seeing all 5 bars, just select all and unhide. The bars are still there doing their thing.
Because, I see every bar as an apple to be picked, I favor HVS over the single bar STALL (dip/hitch). The latter STALLs are more difficult apples to pick and an area where I am still working on nailing...
