Question for Grob/Hershey

Quote from makosgu:

For the synch period I am glued to YM at least until about 10 ish (out of the synch woods so to speak). I am still building str/squ knowledge and thus I compensate with YM annotations.

The 09:50 YM bar was a straight stall with decreased volume, so attention was focused on the 09:52 bar which nudged past 09:50 on increased volume. 09:54 was nudge continuation (ie. continued bar extensions in the direction of a long traverse - looking for pt 2). PHEW, feeling more relaxed at that point, etc...

A quick chart, I would do the bar by bar thing but got to catch a train.

Regards,
MAK

Please indulge me. The 9:46-8 bar took out the low of bar 3 and I had r2r with increased volume so why did you not enter short there? What caused you to wait another bar? I am sure that I am the one not getting it but hope you can clear me up on this. Please do the bar by bar thing when time permits. I would be much obliged.

Attached is a flow chart for the 3 ring binder.

I ran out of space for describing streams 4, 5 and 6 and Appendices A, B and F.

I'll do a page 2 of a chart

Mak & Easy, thanks for posting charts today, they are helpful learning tool.

I haven't traded ES yet, but today I watched it throughout and annotated my charts along the way. I used Grob's 3 point rule (index card at hand), but I found myself annotating so many smaller trends and extending the rays into the distance that I didn't recognize the larger trends until far into them. I've attached my ES for the day... perhaps somebody can critique?

Other than the 3-pt rule, are there other rules you use when annotating, or is it largely subjective?

Mak, noticing how clean your charts are, do you annotate the smaller trends as they develop and remove the lines as a new trend emerges?

Thanks,
txuk

Hey txuk,
I had the same problem as you in the beginning, just drawing channels in the short perspective, but looking at charts by easy and mak I think the rule is... hm how am I gonna explain this in english...
I post a chart, and u can see how I use the cycle of the curve instead of bars for 1, 2, and 3.
Hm, now I´m starting to get second thoughts. Maybe this kind of lines that show the "big picture" are drawn from bar 1,2,3 in another timeframe? I´m not of much help maybe...

I hope that soon I will be able to contribute with something more than just questions... :)

Looking at the posted charts it appears the rules for coloring the bars are:

If Close < Previous Close then price bar = Red
If Close > Previous Close then price bar = Black
If Close = Previous Close then price bar = previous color
Color of volume bar = color of price bar

Can somebody either confirm this or correct me?

Thanks,
txuk

Grob, thanks for taking this on -- it is going to be an enormous improvement over our current system of searching through years worth of posts spread over thousands of pages. I'll join Ireland's offer to take on some of the grunt work of pulling this together, just let know.

this attachment is a side trip off the main theme

It is the beginning of the Annotating Skills Building Theme.

So it is SCT 2 A.

you will note that all of my drawings attached from the ET thread are missing because I didn't insert them in the draft. Ireland can slip them in as he wishes and as future revisions get made they will be there and I will learn about it too.

his improved illustrated version will be version 2. this just means that to keep the three ring up to date you can do adds and deletes. We can have a weekly table of contents and a weekly index as well. they will be done over the weekend.

As terms are used that need to be put in the glossary; they will be added too on a weekly basis.

If three different people did those things, it would be helpful. the index will be a terrific thing except for paging problems. getting the items in the index is a first step. We just need a list so to speak, the reference can be to the page of thream segemnt only to just get in the ball park.

Here's a list of abbreviations that might be a useful start for the glossary.

[edit] ??? can somebody tell me why the doc loses its line spacing when I post it ???
