oh for crying out loud, do a little research, this has been written about ad nauseam. A lot of us, myself included, believe repealing Glass Steagall was a bad idea, but it wouldn't have prevented the 2008 mortgage crashIt would not have allowed retail banks to bundle mortgages and sell them to investment banks. This would force retail banks to hold the mortgages they made to homeowners and the retail banks would have been much more cautious & adhere to traditional consumer lending standards.
