I don't have a problem with Democrats. I have a problem with progressives. In this thread, I'm going to post all the examples of where far, far left people do really dumb and/or radical things in the name of being "woke".

Feel free to add your own. Its a target rich environment.

Rep. Cleaver ends opening prayer for new Congress: ‘Amen and awoman’

Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, D-Mo., altered the traditional ending of "amen" by saying "Amen and awoman" as he delivered the opening prayer for the 117th Congress on Sunday -- raising eyebrows.


The video was posted online and he was criticized by other lawmakers who said he was wrong to attempt to assign gender to the word "amen."

Rep. Guy Reschenthaler, R-Pa., took to Twitter to note that the word amen is "Latin for ‘so be it.’"

"It’s not a gendered word," he posted. "Unfortunately, facts are irrelevant to progressives. Unbelievable."

Former GOP House Speaker Newt Gingrich slammed the move as fresh evidence of Democrats moving to the left: "the radical madness has begun."

Cleaver’s office did not respond to an email from Fox News.

Cleaver is an ordained United Methodist pastor and was tapped to lead the opening prayer to start the new session. Congress swore in new lawmakers on Sunday and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was re-elected as House speaker.


Just a day ago, Pelosi introduced new House rules she said will help the body become more inclusive. A 45-page package that will be voted on Monday strips all mention of gender-specific pronouns and terms such as "man," "woman," "mother" and "son."

That's comedy. Ending a congressional speech with "Amen and Awoman" because you're a dope and think this is woke is quite something different entirely. I don't expect you to understand.

And the rest of us will skip "fake outage" pieces by Fox about tan suits and fancy mustard to dupe gullible cons and keep their angst going while avoiding any sort of reporting on the issues that really matter.

You know, like recorded abuse of power and corrupt influence over election results

The "rest of us". Ok. You and the rest of you can do whatever it is you wish. But you didn't skip anything, you came to this thread! :)

Oh, that's right. To "trigger" us. Or something.
 
The Odyssey is a fantastic work. It deals with timeless human issues. It would be a shame to deprive the youth of such a rich text.

I will give an example of how powerful and useful the Odyssey is. On their voyage Ulysses and his crew find themselves on an island with Helios’ prized cattle. As time goes by they run out of food. Now they know the penalty for slaughtering Helios’ cattle is death but they are desperate and make a deal with themselves that they will be ok if when they return home they build a temple to Helios and make sacrifices. So they slaughter and eat the cattle and Helios of course demands their deaths which Zeus abides.

Now think of the issues of justice in this one story. Is the death penalty an effective deterrent? What does this tell of desperation and law? What kind of insight do we get into the mind of people who break the law and how they rationalize their breaking of the law.

And this is just one of the dozens of lessons from the Odyssey. It’s a shame.
