Ah yes, be proud, Progressives! You've successfully removed "The Odyssey" from the curriculum because....well, because....hmm....I don't know. Why, again?
just show them the movie amirite?I actually agree with this...Odyssey is hundreds of pages of bullshit which could have been summarized in 1/4 with just the action!

Same with War and Peace, right?
I think once you pass a certain number of pages in a book you are having way too much description in between action! Except Harry Potter....big print and artwork inside haha
To add to the discussion on these works, the Iliad and Odyssey were the religious texts (really spoken word in the oral tradition) of Hellenic world - you know the basis of western civilization. These texts have important moral and ethical values as well as historical significance. You can find aspects of these texts in today’s science, astronomy, medicine, law, geography, etc.
What problem? Can you call it out for me please? I'm too slow to figure it out on my own.*You should keep telling yourself that so you don't have to face the problem.
The rest of us will call the problem out for what it is.
What problem? Can you call it out for me please? I'm too slow to figure it out on my own. If it's the the problem of educating everyone to the best of their abilities, so they'll make fewer silly, but inconsequential, mistakes, then you would unquestionably want the Democrats to be in charge of solving that kind of problem. The Republican are big boosters of "job training"; education, not so much.
On the other hand, if it is the problem of people putting people down who are less fortunate in education and means, then you sure would want the democrats to be in charge of solving that problem too. Democrats are clearly better in touch with reality. The face of the Democratic Party is the face of America; the Republicans look like an uneasy amalgam of white laborers and folks you'd expect to see in a golf course clubhouse. Nothing wrong with that, but nevertheless an incomplete representation of America.
You may have forgotten that democracy involves a more less constant settling for second best. Even so, people who espouse democracy as the best form of government say it is far better than the alternatives.
