Problems with Transact Today?

They have their own servers now...you may have been with them during some "growing pain" times. They seem to have it all sorted out now...

no probelm - thanx for the feedback - and I aslo agree with you about open acry - I traded with them a little while ago, before going to transact and their datafeed is indeed slow -

Is it me or the transact datafeed? Although TA hasn't disconnected yet today, the price seems to be moving very unusual rigth from the opening, from pausing for up to 2 minutes and then suddenly jumping by 4 or 5 ticks, like when trading volume is very thin.

Could this be caused by TA's problem with their datafeed?

Does anyone else experiences the same?

PS I am trading the ER2

Yes, the last price (black in TradeMaven with the Transact feed) has been lagging behind by several seconds.

However, I have traded today on TradeMaven/Transact without a problem (no disconnects, and proper fills).

This was probably the demo feed your were comparing.

As regards openEcry, their data feed is damn slow. Just compare the DOM price movements with X_TRADER and you will see that there is often more than a 1-second difference in favor of X_TRADER. So the market you see is often 1 second or more behind actual market prices. That shouldn't be a problem if you are a position trader who holds positions for days or longer. But for the daytrader, this is a serious problem which most definitely will affect the bottom line.

That is true. I tested x_trader demo against openecry demo. However, let me also say that I tested IB live data (not demo) against X-Trader demo and noticed the same lag.

Did you know that the OpenEcry demo server is slower than their live server?

I do not have Transact so I cannot post about them.

I hadn't considered that. but i would think that since it is the demo that is designed to draw customers in (i.e. give customers a taste of the best the firm has to offer), the demo would be as fast as the real thing. Otherwise, customers are not seeing how fast the real thing really is before actually opening an account

It is a fact that their Demo is slower. I think it is good management to route traffic for a demo to a different server. The resources, time and money spent goes to real money, not play money and advertising..

I have had nothing but good service and lightening fast executions with Openecry on their proprietary Dom platform.

I have heard equally as nice of things about Transact too...

P.S. There are so many redundencies involved over the internet. The fact that OpenEcry has their own servers (they purchased them) housed in the exchange building, is enough for me....Equinex or something like that....

Maybe I'll open a small account with them and run their DOM at the same time X_Trader (live version) is run just to see if there is really much of a difference.

That would be excellent!

THEIR DEMO IS NOT SLOWER WITH THEIR NEW SERVERS!!

I tried them last year and they were slow...but now things have changed

THE LIVE VERSION LAGS LESS THAN 0.5 SECOND COMPARED TO X-Trader

PATS MORE THAN ONE SECOND!...

It's a valid alternative to X-Trader, and in a few weeks they will launch their own charting software (....in May I think)

GUYS, FIRST OF ALL ....TO BE HONEST PLEASE
