Quote from nursebee:
Atkins induction includes vegetables without significant carbohydrate sources. Legumes, fruits, and nuts have more carbs than I am currently willing to eat. A paleo diet also advocates carb restriction for weight loss, and carb management for long term weight goals.
Do you think calories are an energy source for the human body?
A calories is a unit of measure along the lines of the amount of energy required to heat a gram of water one degree celsius. This does not really equate to the human energy needs. A calorie is not a physical component of food. Food is composed of fat, protein, carbohydrate, vitamin, mineral.
I would argue that avoiding fats starves the body of what it wants, craves, and needs. This can lead to inability to maintain weight loss goals, diet plans, and excess carb consumption.
