Long term view. Monthly
So, what's everybodys call for Nasdaq now?
Lets have a before the fact call rather than after the fact call!
My call, I went long a couple of days ago.
The current markets moves are scary bearish.
However for me a tad early to exit the position.
Me thinks this is typical 'scare the pants off everyone' behavior.
Hoping for a strong bounce from here.
Hope is not a trading plan, it would take a brave soul to go long right at this point.
What do you think?

Shorter term view, daily
Who are you calling stupid and on what basis?
You sound a little defensive Frosty, why the chill? It's only ET, don't let it rattle you.And why doesn't this statement apply to this thread?
You only stated it last month.Whats changed?

The question is not whether trendlines "work" but can they be used effectively in providing an edge within a well defined and tested trade plan. The answer to that is absolutely. Trend lines exist by virtue of price reaction at such levels. Understanding how to effectively use them as a technical condition as does any tool(s) requires an understanding of price behavior through time and market cycle and that takes a of of work. Comments as to whether something or the other "works" as well as the "show me your best setup" threads are simply on line forum bullshit.

PPC and comagnum like this.
You're having a go at Scat, essentially saying Support n Resistance, TLs and Channels don't work, and you're using more Lines than Keith Richards on your Charts.Gotta love the newbies defending Scat for his valuable teachings...
I don't see many in this thread saying TA does not work.
I think what irks most people is drawings on yesterday's chart chock full of contradictory signals claiming KISS TA requiring no skills (Scat's words) will make you rich.
To be clear, I never said trend lines or even S/R don't have any value, but it no doubt takes a lot of skill to navigate the markets successfully.
Let's just look at this last inflection point from a major trend line touch.
Price initially bounced for a + 90 point move, then down - 120 points and finally a + 105 point move on Friday. With a lot of range bound action in between as this entire move took 8 days.
That's a ton of gyrations to navigate where a KISS TA approach would be chopped to pieces and Scat's account margin called by the time the market finally made a move.
And even now? Where are we? Where do we exit?
Is the market now ready to continue rallying through October? If the market pulls back on Monday is that just a pullback or is it a reversal?
The Scat students should be able to answer this easily and trade successfully if the 'KISS TA method' had any value in and of itself. It doesn't.
At best, these observations could make up a small part of your toolbox/method.
