President Trump's Executive Order on Preventing Online Censorship

If a platform censors certain information then it has turned from an open platform to a news editorial. Choosing to fact check with bias a certain group of individuals and not checking another group. Free speech to controlled speech doesn't sound anything like democracy.
So first off, Twitter is a private company. In a democracy, private companies have complete control over what they allow or don't allow to be published on their platform. But let's get to the crux of the matter. Trump told a blatant lie on Twitter. You're advocating that they, as a private company, are not allowed to point out that what he said was a lie. You think THAT is democracy? You call THAT "free speech"? You're saying Twitter, a private company, doesn't have the right to say something factual, but the President can say anything he wants without fear of even having someone point out that it is a lie, and that makes us a better, freer society? Seriously? Listen to yourself.

Of course you were the one who started a thread with a tirad about the evil of upvotes on ET and why they should be banned, so free speech does seem to be a nebulous concept for you.

I've been put in Twitter jail for calling ppl fucktards, etc. Twitter won't allow you to post unless you delete the offending tweet. TWTR should hold Trump to the same standard, although the tweets will be archived by the LoC.

You type just like Trump does, yet you dislike him. Face the mirror and give it a slap.

Twitter, private company or not, should still respect the rules ie freedom of speech in the countries it works in, obviously the exact opposite in China.

Trump has been using the Twitter platform to communicate with his voting base for many years now...

Not a smart move by him to get into a fight with Twitter in the months prior to an election.

Twitter should be allowed to control what they have on their platform, but then they should not also get to claim they are merely a "platform", like a "park" and have any immunity on the content that is posted.

Youtube also delete anti-CCP comments, when being accused they blame the AI algorithm. Doesn't sound very convincing.

Once again, are you not bothered by the freaking President of the United States blatantly lying?
Is it like "If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor" or "Tell Vladimir that after my re-election..."?
I trust you were as indignant then as you are now. And every time a politician of this stature lies (unheard of) your heart rate and social network activity goes up.
It is not about him lying or Adam Schiff lying or Nancy lying, it's about using social media as a choke to anyone, all of us.

Besides, there is too much evidence of ballot fraud in vote-by-mail protocol.
