If we can start with US foreign policy in relation to Iraq and the War on Terror, what do you think is going on at the moment?

First of all I think we ought to be very cautious about using the phrase 'War on Terror'. There can't be a War on Terror. It's a logical impossibility. The US is one of the leading terrorist states in the world. The guys who are in charge right now were all condemned for terrorism by the World Court. They would have been condemned by the U.N. Security Council except they vetoed the resolution, with Britain abstaining of course. These guys can't be conducting a war on terror. It's just out of the question. They declared a war on terror 20 years ago and we know what they did. They destroyed Central America. They killed a million and a half people in southern Africa. We can go on through the list. So there's no 'War on Terror'.

Trembling Before The Gods Of War
President George W. Bush, like the vast majority of the American public, knows war primarily through the cinematic lens. "Rambo," "Delta Force," and a host of other movies oozing self-righteous machismo present war as a football match pitting good guys against bad. The daily misery of war as lived experience does not make the final editing cut in Hollywood.
On screen, the decisive battle comes and goes in a flash, the hero emerges triumphant, no innocents are scarred or damaged, and everyone goes home happy and proud. This is war as fought and won by gods, which most Americans, especially our leaders, consider themselves to be, particularly after the collapse of the USSR. Since 1991, we have been the main attraction: The Superpower, The Sole Leader of the World, The Strongest People on the Planet. What we say, goes.

Who really takes Chomsky's views seriously? We all know that he's a radical, left-wing, Marxist nut and his opinions should be taken with a grain of salt. His anti-American ravings are full of hyperboles and half-truths. I wouldn't be surprised if he wears a pink swastika tattoo just like Wild's...

Well, let me see - how about terrorists hyjack 4 american passenger jets that are loaded with fuel for the long haul. Then they fly one into the pentagon and two into the world trade centers. The other maybe the whitehouse or maybe it will just hit the ground because of the bravery and fortitude of some of the passengers on board.
Oh, wait a minute !!! That's allready been done hasn't it !!!!!!
And what should America do about that.....maybe we should just say...oh that's OK...we are so sorry that we are so hated...we promise to never ever anger any other fanatical faction in the world if it is promised that it won't happen again.
We will now sit back and wait to see if we are getting better at not pissing off terrorists. We will know if we are doing it right by whether or not we get another massive attack on our country.
