POLL: The first debate

By neutral debating standards Trump did incredibly poorly. He lost almost every argument. He allowed his opponent to get under his skin. He became unhinged and lost his temper I think twice. He kept on defending himself starting from 10 minutes into the debate. Yet he fared pretty well in the post debate polls, relative to his weak performance. Clearly people expected him to do even worse so they were somewhat feeling OK about his overall conduct that night.

Did I forget to mention that fact checkers believe 1 or 2 of Trumps statements proved to be correct while 1 or 2 of Clinton's statements turned out to be misleading at worst.

Seems anyone with half a brain saw it as the opposite of what you describe.

The inquiry found that Russia supplied missiles to Russian separatist forces in Ukraine. So you say getting your facts straight means that "Putin was just found to have shot down a commercial airliner crossing over Ukraine airspace from Europe to Asia?" Really? That's what you call a fact?

I keep personal stuff out of these discussions hence I am not interested in sharing personal details. I simply shared my views after having watched the debate and followed the election campaigns for some time.

The Russian separatists were and are directly lead by Russian military personell, pictures have been taken that show the same people among the separatists in Crimea and other ex Russian republics where Russia is very active. The same people are known to work directly for and under Russian command. Those are facts and widely agreed by intelligence services around the world.

Are you doubting that Russia takes a direct interest in Crimea and supplies separatists with weapons and intelligence? It takes a lot of imagination to belive some separatists shoot down commercial airliners without Russian knowledge and even approval.
