Some have done the work, some have not and will probably never do. It's the sad thing with most of the traders - everything has to be instant (coffee, sex, trading ...). If it does not jump out of the monitor and bites them in their face immediately the chances are high that they give up. We both know that this is not the way it works.
Exactly. And I think that this is largely what Charlie is counting on:
Quote from Charlie Dow:

For those that want to fast track the learning process they can go the other route.
And he is entitled to do so. However, I find it distasteful when he wraps himself in a flag of altruism. (And I still have an issue with that "impossible" thing.)

Thunderdog,

most people don't see a great opportunity, because they only see that they have to work first.
All information Charlie has reffered to is spread out an ET and on other sites. The only thing one has to do is some work and apply common sense to the information.

Just my experience.

Happy trading,

fritz,
very good points! :)

the tough thing is that you still need to prove it to yourself to increase your confidence & if you add some conflicting beliefs about trend on top of it you see why patience dries out....

do you remember the response from dustin hoffmann about how it feels to be an overnight success? "well", he answers, "extremely good, but it took me 10 years to become an overnight success".....

we always look on the end result too much & not the process & hard work that went into it.

have a good weekend!!

Interesting that you consider scattered pieces of "information" as a form of "giving back." When you give to charity, do you throw coins that the unfortunate have to run after to catch? If you want to "give back" then by all means do so. But let us not mistake that with what you are doing. You seem to be giving just enough "information" to the needy here in order to pique their interest. The only question is, at what point will some of them say enough is enough, I don't want to chase my tail looking for - and piecing together - scattered clues anymore, how much for the course? That's what it's all about, isn't it, Charlie? And that's fine. That's marketing. But it is not "giving back."

Not necessarily. It depends on what you promised them. If you only promised them a hot meal and a seminar, then they would not likely have an actionable claim. However, if you promised them that it was "impossible" for the market to immediately go against their entries, well, then your life would get a little bit more interesting.

These personal attacks on me make you feel better?

ALL of my info is here on the site. Others found it with a little effort and found it useful and are using it. If you don't it, don't bother. Wouldn't do you any good anyway. Your door is locked. I'm in Germany now preparing to do a free class for 3 people at my expense . . . big deal. We trade, we learn we have a great time. All of my Seminars have included free seats. You need to lighten up and go have some fun once in a while. Traders are great group of people don't spoil the environment with your unsubstantiated personal criticisms.

Oh, anytime you want to come out from behind the curtain I will give you the names of both attorneys if you would like to talk to them. One is even suing the other in a non related local matter so you can't say there is a conspiracy between them either. Oh, one trades profitably and the other won't start trading till this Summer and both KNOW how to read the Market so a trade won't immediately go against them. They were not only told that they have seen it and proved it to themselves.

I agree that I have exhibited some personal biases here. Clearly, my posts are not particularly welcome, and I apologize for contributing to the negativity. Insofar as this thread is concerned, I will keep my opinions to myself and will not add any more posts to it. Good luck to everyone.

Just do the math. I can't count the hours that I have spend reading worthless books, looking at worthless indicators or even program them :p . If someone would pay me 1 $ for every hour, man I would hopp on QM2 for some fun  .

The other side is, many succesful traders make extra money after visiting a good seminar.
Rickey Cheung for example charges 300k $ for one of his seminars, if you make only one tick more every day, it was a good investment.

One more example of a trend chart. From today's Euro.

I will cosign and personally thank you for this comment. Often, people are too intent on not letting things just be. Dow and I have had history (ie. met in person). It was a great experience and one I would take the opportunity to have again without hesitation. There is an interesting medley of people here. And just as important is what this particular thread is about. What is even neater here is what could transpire if people just started putting some of their differences aside for the moment and see where the trail leads to...

MAK!
