First you need to learn how to write code, which is the most desirable skill. Then you need to have a good trading idea and/or methodology that is scalable. Prop firms are looking for people either with experience (which you don't have), or someone with good programming skills who can write algos to automate most of the trading. If you could build a track record trading your own money, monitoring your Sharpe/Sortino, max drawdown, Var, ROR, etc., you can present your case with as little as 6 to 9 months of performance. But that would be difficult to accomplish as an OMM if you have limited resources and technology.
However, a lot of prop groups have excess capital lying around and are desperate to allocate it on a proven trade. But you need to have a good track record (proof of concept), and/or solid programming skills just to get your foot in the door. Good luck to you.
