You guys are both full of it. I'm the real owner of this setup and it is at my lodge at Jackson Hole. I mean.... look it has my name on it.
Here is my updated pic, with the last crt replaced also...
used for day-trading. And funds are used mostly to fund peace and education efforts
-2 video cards... nVidia Quadro4 NVS400
-Dell 1905's with cases removed (makes the bezel thinner), in DVI
-1 Dell 153 in analog
-home-made monitor stand, allows the monitors to tilt horizontally and also vertically. The limit of the system, for me, is how far I need to turn my head. The single lcd on the side is even a bit hard to view, since it requires me to turn my head enough that I completely lose sight of the monitors on the other side.

The materials cost me about $100...
3 pieces of wood, hinges, some felt pads for the feet, screws, and some bolts and washers and wing-nuts for the VESA mounts.
A circular saw and drill and a file were the only tools I used.

so the monitors could be titled horizontally and vertically.
I would recommend anyone making their own stand, to make sure the VESA's lock well. This specific type I bought lock with difficulty. Locking them requires tightening them with an allen wrench, and they go floppy again if you move the angle an inch. Setting the angles and locking them took a fair amount of effort... but it is very helpful to have the lcd's all in approximate direct line of sight... even with the gaps between the corners.

I got them from ebay for a big discount. the mounts are about 2 inches deep, and I was actually just coming back to post a photo of them I have...

There are flat VESA's that I'm sure mount much easier, but they won't help for creating a direct line of sight. I made the stand out of 3 folding pieces of wood, to help with the horizontal tilt. Getting the placement of the VESA's on the wood took some time to figure out, since the center moves if you fold the mount sideways.

and... it's difficult to see, but I have the stand secured to the desk (with the brass clamps in the photo).. otherwise the stand would almost surely fall forwards with the weight of the monitors being ~120 pounds, and the stand feet being so small.
I bot some mounts like the ones in the link below a few years ago, but haven't gotten around to building a stand. The only problem with this mount is that it's 6" deep...a bit unwieldy.

I may order 3 of the Dell 19 inchers soon, so I'm looking at my options again. Thanks for the pics and info.
You can make due with smaller ones for sure... the ones I got (even tho they don't lock conveniently) they do support 30+ pounds, and the 19" lcd is only ~20 pounds.
Yeah, those 1905's are great. I read quite a bit and deicded to get the 1905's, and not the 1901's, after reading about a lot of glitches and issues with the 1901 on the dell forums.
