My lovely setup in Chicago..

A new setup is here in NYC, will have 6 monitors, 1 PC (custom built)

Wholly lacking in counterspace dude.

I'm worse than a woman in her kitchen in that regard, often for no other reason than to prop my feet up or lay out a Financial Times ....:)

I agree with you on that one in terms of personal preference, I have a pretty large desk. I wanted something that I could have a computer + keyboard + mouse on but still have lots of room to layout my books for studying. It'll be even better once I can ditch the space hogging CRT and buy a couple of LCD panels.

Here's a pic of my main workstation. FWIW, I use a total of 30 19'' and 20'' monitors among 7 computers. The system on the right has 12 monitors vertically oriented (2x6). I don't like the way the wiring looks but in an emergency I want them fairly accessible.:D

Stuart Scott on ESPN would say...

"That Ain't Right!!!!!!!!"

Risktaker,

Why so many?

No matter how many markets I follow, I've found by trial and error that 7 screens is the most my mind can deal with.

Just curious.

Jayford,
I use 20 screens for charts, 2-4 screens for IB's tws and then I have 3 computers collecting data, performing custom stuff and another to test things in real time and serves as backup. Except for a Compaq laptop, everything is Dell and only 1 problem in last 3 years. 'Guess I'm just a very visual guy.:p

yes i think having more than 7 or so is huge overkill. it's impossible to look at all of the. i have a 5 setup and 2. i actually jjust bought 3 dell 2007 fp 20.1 incher that are awesome.i've had a 5 up 5 down setup but it was impossible to look at them all

That's the first time I've seen multiple monitors arranged vertically. Why did you decide to use that config versus 3x4 horizontal? (edit-One advantage I can see now after thinking about it is that you get the bottom monitors way down low near the desk, perhaps that was the reason - very nice) What vid cards are you using?
